I guess I need to reread the thread.  I missed the part about someone taking his side.  Maybe at the beginning of the thread before our rotted grey matter started working and we recalled the details of the start of his relationship.

Actually Al is probably a really great guy who devoted his life to her happiness only to be thrown in the trash like a piece of waste paper.  We do have a lot of fun shredding peoples stories though.

It might not only surprise some who was on there but why.  I seem to recall something about TooTall ending up on there for giving gum to  the ladies.

A fun research project for someone with good Russian skills would be to scan the black list and make some posts here about which of our members on on there and why and we could probably have some really good discussons.

Viking mentioned his wife knows her email address, then maybe for the sake of curiosity, sick one at that, maybe Viking can ask her wife to send Elena an email with a link to this thread and ask her to share her side of the story...she doesn't have to respond to her email, but, she may want to read what's being said here about her which may prompt her to add a valued account of what happened from her POV.

Now that could be interesting and this thread could end up competing with Billys for the most drama and post count.

That is probably the truest, wisest, and most insightful post in the whole thread Gator, but why spoil of fun with wisdom.  It's just so much fun to invent facts based on nothing, to rip someone apart becarse of the things we read between the lines and to fill in the blanks with our own vivid imaginations.   

If we want to be logical yes, the important thing is for Al to forget the idea of revenge.  Most things that go wrong have blame on both parties and most of those involved see only the others blame.  It would be fun to hear her side of the story but if it doesn't happen we can live without a Wiz-Mirror II.

This I agree with and hopefully with the help of AL_C's ex fiancee posting her side of this debacle here on RWD, we can all help AL_C identify any "problem areas" in his life.

My wife sent this woman an email during this "crisis" and never got a reply. She has washed her hands on this matter and I agree with her. Personally I don't need to hear "both" sides to this story. We will never hear again from this woman. It's over.  What this woman is doing/living her life/entertaining another man/disappearing into the woodwork is something I could care less about. Agree.  Posting her photo and name was small minded.  Surely she knows.  If so, her absence suggests she is above public mud slinging (or doesn't want to attract attention if she is one of those RW who has a pipeline of men at different stages).

The ability to address another side of the 'truth' (hers) should be given equal platform, don't you think so?

If this gal did in fact removed herself from him because of justifiable reasons and continued in her search, she may well be discriminated upon by another suitor simply because of AL_C's knee jerk, vindictive reaction to her decision.

If she shows up it would turn in to what Greg described earlier as a Freak show grease fire. The very most you would get is her version of the truth and further discombobulation of the real truth. There's likely Al's version of the truth, her version of the truth and then, the truth.

Do you doubt she is "justified" in her version? Is she going to proclaim she is everything Al states? Unlikely. It may sound plausible or not but it wouldn't matter. It is what she would believe and it likely isn't any closer than Al's version. At least Al is a long standing member here. Even if he did open this thread in a jealous haste, he knew we'd pick it apart like circling buzzards on road pizza. I would see no benefit to her posting here other than to add to Al's misery. RWD is pretty high up there in terms of traffic and visibility dealing with the pursuit of international marriages. With this in mind, I would like to believe it comes with some responsibility that anyone citing such condemning accusations be supported by facts, or at the least be challenged by the accused. If this cannot be made possible, then the photo and the name should have been removed immediately and without hesitation. Just because the woman isn't judicially afforded the same legal latitude avalable for the likes of you, me, AL, et al...doesn't mean women like her ought to be stoned, ridiculed, accused, etc...without so much as an opportunity to be *heard*.

I'm sure if either you, me, or anyone were in Elena's shoes, we'd like an opportunity to cite our cause, no?

An attempt to slander and defame? Possibly, in the heat of the moment or possibly just lashing out and this is the only place he can do that. That doesn't make him right but it doesn't make him the bad guy either.

I think RWD does a pretty good good of upholding that end. Mostly from the hash and rehash the members do publicly. There has been plenty here condemning Al for his lapse in judgement. Myself included. There is also a time for some empathy. You and I GQ would relish an opportunity to explain our positions no doubt. To assume she would is a stretch. She's welcome to however, I think it'd be a disservice to seek her out to do so. A disservice to Al. We don't "know" if he's wrong or the bastid he's been portrayed here.

I generally share this sympathy with women who have been wronged in this manner. I have it for Elena if that is the case. Honestly, we don't know that from the information shared, do we? Al's hurt and understandably so. I'd forgive this lashing out without condemning him.

Okay Greg. So you are not implying anything. We are writing about what happened to Al with his former fiancee and offering our two cents. Some are taking his side and others are taking hers. No one has said that she asked for money. All Al said was that shhe didn't keep her promise to marry him.

Where does the word scammer and blacklist comes in?

The word scammer comes into play when Al_C put her name out there and told people to click on the next photo because the lady in question might not be what you are looking for. The word blacklist comes in because Al_C wants Elena on that list. If I were looking for a potential whatever and I ran across this lady, I would probably be more cautious. Probably go into it with a quick trigger. Probably have a plan B.
