Actually both my first and second wives were/are non-materialistic.

Both aways argue against my plans to buy them something, cheap or expensive.

Ukrainian wife will order fairly expensive items at restaurant, whereas AW would go for least expensive.   

But then we don't go to expensive restaurants all that much, and UW actually enjoys our Saturday morning breakfasts at McDs, et al.
