Hi Jaguar

My Wife (from Moscow) will be living in Perth as from mid September, I am currently based in the Pilbara, but will be a regular to Perth :) but I'm a kiwi, so don't hold that against me :)

Ani (my wife) has already made contact with 2 (I think) couples living in Perth, one a Russian couple and the other Russian/Australian....but she seems to think there is a sizable Russian community.

Send me a PM and I'll give you her email and you can discuss it directly with her.

Hi,
I live in Perth and married a Ukrainian/Russian woman ten years ago. The best thing I did, she is a wonderful and beautiful person. But they are not all nice, as there are plenty who will take advantage of you if they can. The answer is to choose wisely and make sure you know the real person before you commit to marrying. I know free web sites to meet Russian women on too if anyone is interested.

Hello everybody,

i'm russian, moved to perth 2 years ago and have been married to my amazing australian man  for an year. Everything is wonderful except i do not have any friends... :(
It would be great to meet a russian/australian couple  who'd love to catch up dinners/breakfasts/drinks from time to time. I'm 28, my husband is 37. We are both into healthy life style, love walking, breakfast on weekends, travelling, laughing, working hard... :)

Looking forward to hear from couples with the same problems! :)

My wife is Russian and we live in Perth (well, I work in the Pilbara a lot, but am a regular to Perth) my wife lives in Subiaco and works in Perth, she is 39 and has quite a few Russian friends that we meet with regularly, ranging in age from about 25 - 47 (I'm 43). We are a very friendly, sociable bunch - some kiwis are thrown into the mix as well (one Russian couple we know are NZ citizens also).

Send me a private message and I'll put you in touch with my wife, and you two can meet for a coffee perhaps :) Her name is Nastya and I am Andy

my wife lives in Subiaco
I had to look it up since the name is familiar in Italy ;):

Quote
The area was settled in 1851 by Italian Benedictine monks. The monks named the area after Subiaco in Italy, the location where Benedict of Nursia, the founder of the Order of Saint Benedict, had begun his work.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subiaco,_Western_Australia

Its namesake:
Quote
Subiaco is a town and comune in the Province of Rome, in Lazio, Italy, 40 kilometres (25 mi) from Tivoli alongside the river Aniene. It is mainly renowned as a tourist and religious resort for its sacred grotto (Sacro Speco), in the St. Benedict's Abbey, and the other Abbey of St. Scholastica. It is also famous as the first city in Italy where books were printed, in the 15th century.

Apparently, the Benedictines moved further north to New Norcia:
Quote
New Norcia is a town in Western Australia, 132 km (82 mi) north of Perth, along the Great Northern Highway. It is situated next to the banks of the Moore River, in the Shire of Victoria Plains. New Norcia is the only monastic town in Australia. A ground station for the European Space Agency is located 8 km south of the town.
On 1 March 1846, a Benedictine mission to the local aborigines was started about 8 km to the north, led by the two Spanish Benedictines, Rosendo Salvado and Joseph Serra. Within a year the mission was moved to where the town is today, and on 1 March 1847 the foundation stone of the monastery was laid. The place was named New Norcia, after Norcia in Italy, the birthplace of St Benedict. Unlike the Italian Norcia, which is pronounced "nor-chee-a", New Norcia is pronounced "new nor-sia".
...
The town of New Norcia has buildings in a Spanish style of architecture, along with some other historical sites. Among these are the two old boarding schools, St Ildephonsus' and St Gertrude's (both now used for accommodation and various social functions), the Abbey Church (containing the tomb of Rosendo Salvado), an old mill, a wine press, a hotel, and the monastery itself. Tours of the town are operated daily by the Friends of New Norcia, who also organise the accommodation in the various buildings including the monastery retreat. The Benedictine monks continue to occupy the monastery and are involved with most of the enterprises in the town.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Norcia

You might care to sample their products ;):
Quote
Today New Norcia is increasingly well respected in Australian culinary circles for its quality bakery (built in 1886) offering breads, nutcake and biscotti. Also maintaining olive oil production and locally made wines, port and ale can be purchased at the community or from special outlets

The Benedictine motto is "Ora et labora" (Pray and work!), a no-nonsense order ;D.

Hi Spoon,
We're new in Perth. We're french, we spent four years in Moscow. Our daughter went to local kinder garden there and speak very good russian. We'd like to give her the chance to practice this beautiful language (and for me also!!). Maybe you know some russian families with kids or a russian woman interested in being a nanny?
Thank you,
Sureau

Olga, look at the first postings in this thread.  There are Perth couples mentioned  there.

Also check  out a guy with the handle I/O  shown here:

Don't know which city he and his RW live in Australia, but I think he knows several
Aust/Russ couples.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.
