Help needed

I am new to this site and was wondering if anyone could help.

I have met this woman through a dating site (Russian Brides Club). We have been talking for a few months now, exchanging photos, letters etc. The time came to go and see her. I have booked a flight to Ukraine and also an apartment. Now she is telling me she has found an apartment for me and wants me to use this instead. OK, not a problem i hear you say, but i am having doubts now. You see, she does not speak good English and her mails are translated through her local agency she says. Now she is saying she will meet me at the airport with someone from the agency who will take us to the apartment. Also she will have a translator with her and she will be with us for the trip. When i try to tell her i wish to use the apartment i have found, she is adamant i use the one she has found. Also i have told her that i have already arranged transport from the airport as it is included in the price of the apartment. I am beginning to think now it may be a scam that works  like this... She gets me to come to Ukraine, pay the agency for transport, apartment and translator (all of which she says her local agency have arranged). They take my money and she disappears with her cut.  I am sure the agency would not do all this for free and they are not getting any money from me at the moment. I paid to exchange the first 15 letters and then was given her contact details. So it cost me nothing now to correspond with her.
Has anyone experienced this before or am i being to sceptical.
I am new to this foreign dating experience and therefore a little nervous about getting stung.

Yes, your are more than likely being set up for some scamming.  The agency is pressing the girl to use their apartment and also the translator.  I would press back and stick with your apartment and transportation arangements.  If she still pushes back, then you can be pretty sure that you are getting set up for a scam.
 
Couple of questions:
 
What is the agency?
How long have you been cooresponding?
How old are you and how old is the girl?
You say that you are new to "this forgien dating",  what country are you from and do you date in your locale?

So you are saying that for the moment the agency is translating for free ? Woww !!!  You are so lucky, this is the first time i know an agency who works for free !!!
 
In my opinion this is an agency scam.
 
Just tell her that you have already book this flat and transportation and paid an advance. So it's done anyways, ask her what is the price per hour of her interpreter.
 
Better for you to prepare yours backups now and work on it as soon as possible. Which city are you aiming for in Ukraine ? Something not clear  : the site dosn'nt show any agencies in Ukraine, so ask her what  is this agency, internet site, adress, phone and so on.
 
Anyways, better for you in the future to stop to use these shit sites. And better to aim a site with less half nuked women. Just my two cents.

You haven't mentioned anything that might represent that you have actually been corresponding with the woman you believe to be corresponding with. Such agencies are famous for generating letters without the woman's consent or knowledge.


A number of things standout as you being pegged for a mark. However, only you can truly know if there is a connection and the woman is real. You should secure your own apartment and it shouldn't be an issue if she is indeed interested in you. Something is afoot if she continues to insist using all these services from the agency. If the woman isn't local I imagine she will have to leave town at the last moment as you arrive. If she is local, likely you will be sprung on her the day you do arrive.


My suggestion is if you wish to continue with hopes of this lady, keep your own apartment and translator. Develop a plan B. Find another agency or even more so, contact one of the "on the ground assistants" in Ukraine. There are a number of them that are members here at RWD. You've already booked arrangements and personally, I'd be hedging my bets to insure, I had a good time as planned. If your trip relies solely on the agency, you are in for a let down.


My guess is that you are being played for a chump. It's possible you aren't but, I'll take the odds you are. There's lots here on the forum for you to read.

Get your backup plan ready.

She has said she uses the local agency for the site. Yet she says her site is Natasha club yet i was using another agency when i found her profile. After insisting i find my own accomadation, transport etc, she sent me the following mail.

I am pretty new to this site, but not new to the "game" these so called women play. You made the correct decision, definately being set up for a scam...but like you said, at least you get to travel to a new destination...a silver lining. Perhaps you can try another agency as plan B.

A healthy dose of skepticism will serve you well. Trust your instincts. If it smells like a scam then do like James Bond and push the eject button.

Unfortunate but, expected. The solid advice now is to get to work on plan A and B. Make the most of your trip and enjoy it. There are a number of websites you can join and introduce yourself to some ladies from the area you are going.

Then you have a couple of weeks. A membership at Elena's Models would be a wise investment. You should also check out the free sites and the Russian version of facebook. Contact a few women in the Kharkiv area that peaks your interest and let them know you'll be in the area.


Read the forum and ask those experienced with the area for some tips and pointers. Seems you may have posted in the nick of time

Still, Kharkiv is a beautiful city loaded with English-speaking beautiful girls. Any age preference you are looking for? The reason I ask is that the days of large age discrepancies as a norm are quickly fading, at least in Kharkiv. I was recently in Kharkiv and made a couple of friends (one native and the other from Volgograd, Rus) and both work on raising many social issues occuring in UA, at least to the EU. This is one of the issues they talked about. Of course, you can find some that are willing to enter into large age difference. Just a little bit harder to do.

Just some food for thought. If your search isn't for the young twentysomething hard bodied eye candy and you are new in the search, consider women right up to your own age, perhaps even somewhat beyond. You might be pleasantly surprised at what you find. If not, no harm no foul

When I was in Kharkiv 5 years ago, I worked with the owner of a small agency named All-Beautiful.  The owner Elena had resided in Kansas for a short period and spoke excellent English.   She knows many of her UW clients very well, and would arrange individual meetings for a fee.  I don't know if Elena is working full-time at the agency because 5 years ago she had her hand in many business ventures, the agency being only one.  IMO it is worth a call before you depart.

I also suggest that you take one day and visit Dnepropetrovsk (3-hour train ride, direct and easy).  Kharkiv is a nice city, Dnepro even better.  There a large agency operates under the name Cindy.

In Dnepro are two other agencies (one is http://www.5starintroductions.com/).  I met a California man in his 40s who spent a week there and had not written any women before arriving.  Upon arrival he went to the offices of the three agencies and surfed through their catalogues.  He had multiple meetings each day, looking for "chemistry."  If you do that, I suggest that you asked the agency staff how well they know each woman you wish to see.
