Actually, that's not "weird" at all but quite common, albeit racist particularly in America and not isolated to the South. There is the same sentiment among other races. Asian/white, asian/black, mexican/white, mexican/black. Is it racism I suppose would depend on the individual. Some might see it as choice. In the bigger cities there is the same idea among nationalities.

That is a point of view I have heard from many Americans and Brits. Its not an unpopular view in the UK. Many guys try to get to that question with British women early on, and if the answer is affirmative, then they simply 'next' them.

Its one reason some men go to the FSU. A place where women typically eschew black men is appealing for many white men.

I think in a lot of cases it's simply a fear that they won't be able to "measure up" to so many people's perceptions of black guys and their "equipment!"    Others may of course simply be racist enough to not want to have anything to do with a woman who has been "contaminated" by an inferior being.

I think the first explanation is more probable. If it were mostly racism issue, then the question would be equally popular  among women. I have never heard about a woman who would ask her BF if he slept with a black girl to move on in the case of the affirmative answer.

Somebody told earlier that many FSUW might date black man, but they would never marry them or have children with them. I disagree with that opinion. My main reason for disagreement is the large # of mulatto babies that were born in Moscow after Olympic games. My second reason is that if AW find interracial  marriages acceptable, than there are FSU people who think interracial marriages are okay too.

It could be argued that it is a result of a deeply entrenched racist double-standard: when slavery was practiced for example, slave owners would have sexual relations with slaves (the men) but of course their wives were not allowed to have relations with the enslaved men...
