I did not think Marijuana use was very high in Ukraine...
But i can't say it surprises me..


 
they did plant a lot of industrial hemp around Chernobyl,,,,

MIL gave me one of these contraptions last time I was in Russia (and the cherry flavoured weed to go with it), aparently she bought it in Egypt. I brought the "bong" home but left the weed in Russia, customs and all....................

Smoking through a waterpipe is supposed to have originated in India, the device possibly invented by Hakim Abul Fateh Gilani, a Persian physician at the court of Mogol ruler Akbar I (1542 - 1605 AD).

Depending on the country, it's called ḡalyān in Persia, hookah/huqqah (हुक़्क़ in Urdu, حقّہ in Nastaleeq) in India/Pakistan, nargile (but sometimes pronounced argileh or argilee) in Turkey, shisha (شيشة) or nargeela (نرجيلة) or argeela in Arabic countries.

Shisha derives from the Persian shīshe (شیشه), meaning glass. Nargileh derives from the Persian word nārghile, meaning coconut, which in turn is from the Sanskrit word nārikela (नारिकेला), suggesting that early hookahs were hewn from coconut shells.
