It may not be as popular as in the US, but a girl I am talking to knows of it, and likes the holiday.  All about love makes her feel warm inside, or so she says.  And I take anything that does that to be a good thing.  I only sent an ecard though, as I did not know at the time how much Valentines meant to her.  Will make up for it on March 8th though.
I myself sent a physical card myself. Couldn't be too mushy not quite at that stage yet. I think its popular among the younger people. I was told its a day for couples. I asked because this thread was a tad late. Then again i'm probably younger than most guys on here. But, i'll have plenty of things sent for the 8th too.

Advice to newbies.

Since Valentines day has passed, and 8th of March will soon be here . . .

you  can save a ton of money this year by waiting just over 3 weeks to initiate contact with any FSU woman.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Let me also add, dont ever let anyone convince you that Valentine's Day, unlike IWD, is an exclusively female celebration.
