Assume that we talk about the inner qualities of a man, not about attractiveness, chemistry, etc.
1. He must be a driven ambitious professional, who strives to achieve more and who wants to have only the best in his life. Including me
2. Good communicator in word and script. I feel annoyed talking to someone who is restricted in his vocabulary and expressions.
3. Zest for life. He must be passionate and curious about a number of things in life, willing to learn and to discover new oppurtunities.
4. Fairness. He treats people the way he wants to be treaten himself.
4. He takes pride in his health and appearance.

All this time I had no idea that I was the perfect man for you, Lily.

I did not know that fact about cats.   My list of reasons for not liking cats has now grown from 37 to 38. 
 
Sorry, Vasilisia, most men like dogs.   GQ likes cats, but he thinks a man should get rid of his wife if she gets sick and becomes overweight.  Thus, you can't have everything in a man.   Only women are perfect.   

I have a detailed chart I created that compares cats to zombies.  Cats lose.

As I wrote earlie in this thread, those are the reasonable criteria that come into play after the physical attractiveness, which is an instinctive criterion,  is present.

It doesn't matter because if had given your top 5 to a genie, she would have granted your wishes and might have given you Jason Voorhes' physically appearance !!!  The genie's job is to make sure you get all the 5 that you have wished for

1) reliable ("in sickness and in health", doesn't change his mind all the time, doesn't take illegal drugs, etc)
2) responsible ( being mature, realizes that he is the head of the family)
3) kind (doesn't get mad easily, can laugh at problems and at himself, doesn't argue often and genrally love people and is satisfied with his life, optimist)
4) has realistic expectations 
5) has cats  (my personal observation is that if the man loves cats and has one or two we normally have a lot on common, he becomes a really good friend)

      Love me love my cats hey. LOL I live with two cats and if any women does not pass the cat's test they do not get to stay for long. Did not know we had this in common

Napoleon was short fat guy who was pursued by first beauties of Europe.  It seems conquest almost all Europe made him very attractive.

Absolutely true
However the physical attraction test can be shifted

by working on your appearance :
sport (stay slim)
clothes
body language
how you care of yourself (skin, nails, hair, cleanliness)
etc ....

Girls are really sensitive to this, more than men.

Patagonie, the physical attraction may not be based on appearance. It is rather the chemistry between the people. Also don'r forget the personal preferences.
On a more general terms, I would tell that physical attraction would rather dwell on genetic constellation. We are attracted to the genes.
