Russia is HELL! Women are desperate to get out!

It's interesting that so many men who are exploring the whole "Russian bride thing" are under the impression that Russian women are looking to "escape" Russia and desperately seeking American citizenship. Yes, seriously!!!! 


One of my wife's girlfriends asked me to help her find a decent guy for her a couple of months back. No, she is not desperate to "get out" and come to America. She is 32, tall, slim, pretty but not a model, professor of medicine, owns her apartment and a car. Is she desperate to get out of Russia and come to America? Nah! However she is extremely frustrated that she can't find a Russian man who would want to get married and have a family together with her.
Long story short I placed an ad for her on a site and I've been reading what AM are writing to her. On occasion she does get a good letter but a large percentage of the time they ask her if she wants to come to America and as their greatest asset they boast their American citizenship!

I am an adventurer, I like traveling and living in other countries, but if I could choose I'd prefer to stay in Russia if I could find a decent man there. It's a lot easier, besides life now is getting better: now we have a lot of things people have in the west: shopping malls, sport centres, clubs, you get used to the size of the condos in a couple of weeks' time, Russians have summer houses, can afford get cars or go abroad for a vacation once or twice per year, you know the rules, speak your own language, eat the food you got used to, have friends and realtives around, people don't think you are rude just because you don't answer their small talks questions, a lot of other cultural things you don't have to get used to, etc. In other words, it's easier for me.

If we decide to have a child we have  a more affordable medical system where you don't have to depend on insurance all the time thinking if it's going to cover the expenses or not, 3 years' maternity leave, free milk cuisine for kids, cheap or free day care, etc.
The theatre tickets are a lot cheaper, when I lived in Russia we went to theOpera house 4-6 times per season, now I do once a year ad the tickets are expensive.

The taxes are lower.

The bad things are the climate which is quite cold, and lack or normal men who work, don't cheat, don't drink a lot of alcohol, have moral values, , take good care of kids, with the rest you could live.

It is a legitimate question for men far removed from the MOB world.

I am just surprised about the following things:
-compare the average salary in Russia in 1999 and compare average salary in Russia now.
you will see more than 10 times' difference (inmprovement).
The 90-ies were like hell: revolutions, money defaults, high crime rate but according to you and those articles it looks like peope just loved Russia and stayed there and as soon as Putin became the president they just wanted out immediately: the quality of life as been  getting better, the borders are open, but people are just leaving the country anyway escaping from Putin, what are you talking about?!

Did you live in Russia in the 90-ies?! I lived both in 80-ies, 90ies and in Putin's and Medevedev's time. We haven't done better since Puin became the president: if you don't believe me put all economical and financial  data together. We are not doing perfect, but we are doing better than it was 10 years' ago. Russians always compain about everything: no matter how much you give to them, and they always complain about the leaders, so the fact that Russians complain about something doesn't mean that they are dissatisfied with something, they just don't want to scare the luck away People whine a lot about how hard their life is ut personally I don't know anyone who would vote for someone other than Putin or communists

In the 90-ies several Russian criminals also made a lot of money and became super rich oligarhs, now Putin is not letting them  make money that easily and those money kings are trying to push him off with the help of western organizations whining about KGB or somethng.

They also pay to all those  "protesting" organizations (when "bad Putin" actually allows them have those anti-Putin meetings, but those protesters start destroying other people's property or attack the police or go where hey didn't claim they would be ,  of course the police arrests them for that and all western newpapers write that anti-Putin meetings' protesters have been arrested by the police. They don't write why they had been arrested, they only mention that they have been arrested when they were having an anti-Putin meeting, blahblahblah. Nice.

If you had read the articles, money was not the main motivation.  You are starting to sound like Putin.   Putin suggests dividing the poll numbers by 100 to get his view of reality.   I did not write the articles, I am just the lowly paid message relaying dude.

I think the number is close to be true. Quotation: "Recent polls suggest around 20% of Russians are considering leaving". One has to pay attention to: ARE CONSIDERING.
I know a few guys both males and females who lived in USA for some time. They have compared the life quality and decided to get back in Russia where they have more opportunities. A few friends have stayed in USA because they succeded to earn more than 70 k$.
    I knew one russian doctor from Moscow who emigrated in USA in first 1990's. He spent 10 years of taking odd jobs  to return to his profession in NYC. He used to ask: WTF?  I spent 10 years of life to reach the same wealthiness as my former colleagues reached in Moscow.
     So I guess if a man looks for a russian wife he has to aim those who does not dream to leave Russia. More safe way in a long run.

You actually contradict yourself in your post. Doll is living in the US, which means she did not move for the imaginary land of milk and honey, but for a husband regardless of where he lives.
