Seriously, there are old men and then there are miserable old men.   You describe the latter.  I play golf with a couple of them.  One spouts such nonsense as "If women did not have that treasure between their legs there would be a bounty on their heads."     He also complained once at the bar that we have no camaraderie.  A happy and even older man replied quickly,  "We do, after you leave!"  All but one of us had a big laugh.

I was relieved when I saw the OP was Eduard, there seem to be a lot of disenchanted WM with FSUW posting on here lately.  At the same time these threads just seem to become debates with no time limit or resolution.  I don't think I've ever seen an antagonist go on RWD and post, "you know what the collective wisdom of this group has enlightened me and I no longer see things the way I stated earlier."


I have heard from people that on forums such as RWD they like to play a provocative, mix-it-up role.  Perhaps that is happening, perhaps there really are people who read "hey I am big and fat American, want to be an American?" as an intro line and call it an appropriate filter.


The voices I tend to relate to on RWD are the ones that can at least occasionally say this is a difficult undertaking, that requires a lot of introspection, money, time and effort to do right and it can be worth it or it might end up just helping you become a better person.

I tend to agree. I will not argue with my Russian friends any longer about these things. It is not worth it. But I do TRY with my wife. Maybe eventually ?

You are wrong, Doll. My US citizenship didn't play any role in our relationship. In fact she would have rather stayed in Russia where she could be closer to her family and had me move there to be with her. My wife likes it here now, better than in Russia in fact, but it took a few years of living here and adjusting for her to feel this way. The fact that we live in Florida not far from the Gulf of Mexico doesn't hurt either.

I agree, but it's no different from the masses of Americans who are out there for government handouts and will vote for Obama in November. Both, Obama and Putin grew up with Communist ideology ingrained in them so there's nothing surprising there.
