I just get sick of your posting unsupported opinions about GWB on a non-political thread in RWD and wonder why the Adminstrators allow you to hijack the threads with your opinions.  I don't care what any of you think about GWB or Obama--so why am I reading about it on a thread titled "Russia is HELL!  Women are desperate to get out!"

Please return to the thread and make a list of those who expressed  anti-war opinions and other liberal thoughts.  Could it be that you were among the first of them.  And when did us respectable conservatives cease to refrain?  Answer:   when it was approaching the height of absurdity.

Quote
I would prefer to come to this site and not hear your political opinions and I promise if you title a thread I love GWB why don't you?  I won't be looking or posting.  How thick are the walls to not hear that?

I guess you are not ready to contribute to the George Zimmerman defense fund.  ;D

BTW, I am pleased that you liked Ron Paul.   I agree that he is a great American.  Yet, he is not electable.  Although you make jokes about Romney, he is our primary hope now to return America to moderate thinking and fiscal responsibility.

I'm pretty sure I am talking to a brick wall--so it's not on me.  Can't make you a critical thinker.  Some people just don't have that in them.  I think you are one of those people.

Critical thinker?!? Is that you think of yourself?!? LOL! What a hoot!

Anyway, yes...personally, I just can't place the relationship between the acts of Islamist terrorists with a natural disaster as somehow related, or one and the same, and can easily be blamed on any one person.

Chrissakes, if you are that omnipotent, then you should not have a need to 'read' every post in every thread to instantly know it may not serve your sensibility well just so you can start spewing out your silly psycho-babbles, no?

For someone who dislike *one of the subjects* within it, you sure jumped right into it like fly on a carcass, yes?

SFandEE,

Regarding your criticism about not having an anti-terrorist plan for levees, this illustrates how vulnerable we are regarding our infrastructure,   For example, do you know how much harm could be done from dropping ultra toxic chemicals in our water supply reservoirs.

That is why our security policy stresses proactive rather than reactive measures, namely stop them outside our borders.   I guess that is why we remain in Afghanistan, close to the den of snakes.     Someone mentioned that "special interests" keep us in Afghanistan.  Special interests?  WTF.  There is NOTHING there except poppy fields.  I was there in the 1970s before the Soviet bear arrived.  The only special interests would be the drug cartel and drug addicts.

The total is still Peanuts!   The minerals have no strategic importance.  Even if mined in a 100 years, it would not change life in the rest of the globe but could give Afghani jobs other than sheep, palm dates, pistachio, and opiates.   I consider such talk as blabber by those in government trying to justify our presence.

probably someone in the fox news would disagree with you  :D

"The Afghan people (are) developing an understanding that they have a source of indigenous wealth that if properly developed will enable them to be sovereign," said Paul Brinkley, a senior defense official who led the study.
If the Afghan government has taken notice of the billions in potential revenue, so will the Taliban.
"Obama's war just became more important and more complicated at the same time," said Bruce Riedel, a former CIA officer who helped advise the administration last year when it was rethinking its Afghanistan strategy.

you can not blame him for the financial crises

I think Limbaugh has trained people to say that it was the fault of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.  Because I didn't see the reason why this was a resolved position for a discussion about elevating GWB to elite status as president.  So is it the president (democrat/republican) or congress (democrat/republican) responsible for a corrupt policing of Wall St. and corrupt capitalism and free markets?  I think this one leads to statements from the "thick walls" that government is bad, not the truth that bad government is bad.

So am I paraphrasing FP close by saying, GWB is not accountable for the way his government (Fed, Treasury, SEC) handled the financial crisis in 2008 and and would I be correct to add the incongruent talking points for 9/11 were that GWB wasn't in office long enough to be held accountable for the factual federal security and response failures in 9/11.

I guess "grunt" democrat bad, republican good.  Eat rock.  Hopefully lithium in rock.

After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

Please return to the thread and make a list of those who expressed  anti-war opinions and other liberal thoughts.

If those that are anti-war are liberals, are the conservatives pro-war then? The left protested GWB's wars but a lot of them seem to cheer the new wars just because right now, one of "their" guys is the Executive.

There is a really good book, AMERICA'S SECRET WAR, by George Friedman of Stratfor.com. The author discusses the motivations behind the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. Very interesting stuff.

An interesting historical phenomenon has been despots sitting on top of huge oil fields that attempt to open oil markets that trade oil in currencies other than the USD. Hint: the last guy who tried that ended up hanging at the end of a rope. Guess which country did not take notes?..........

Actually Natural, I am not a supporter of wars.   Even though I am a Vietnam veteran, I believe America's involvement was wrong.  I would initiatives to greatly reduce America's defense budget.

It is getting testy here as the nation becomes more and more divided.  Today the Indiana Republican primary unseated Dick Lugar who has been a Republican Senator for 36 years.  A Tea Party candidate unseated him.   Because the Tea Party is perceived to be radical, the Democrats could win this senate seat in November.    Our budget deficit needs to be addressed, but not in the Tea Party manner as it could stop our fragile economic growth.

America needs moderates, neither liberal nor conservative.   Romney is not an ideal candidate, e. g.  he is not an eloquent speaker,  he lacks some charisma, some are skeptical of his religion.  Yet he is very pragmatic, and he has accomplished much in his life in business and public service.    And he is as moderate as one can find in politics these days.

America has always been about compromise.  Lately compromise is not happening.  The Tea Party is not about compromise.  Some groups to the Left are also not about compromise.  America's civil war was fought 150 years ago because the country could not compromise.   We will not fight a war, yet we may not be able to address some serious issues because congress is so polarized.

Of course, one could venture the opinion that since America has always been about compromise, then compromise is what brought us to this sorry state of affairs we are sitting in now.

This is why the "less than moderate" Republicans have somewhat hooked up with the Libertarians and a few radical right organizations are voting with them.

As for the anti-war left cheering on the Libyan debacle when it's their boy pushing the button, yeah it's incredible how two-faced and hypocritical they have become. They seem a bit drunk with power when they're not whining that half the country is too stupid to understand them or crying in their beers over screwing up control of Congress.
