Travelling to Belarus Security concerns . advice sought thanks

I am planning a  trip to Belarus in the near future to meet a lady i have contacted via the internet ( Elena's Models) .Can anybody advise me about safe travelling in this country etc. If i where to travel further out from Minsk to a small town in the countryside to met with her family would this be safe and advisable? The town in question is Smorgon as far as i can tell from  hearing it prounced .Any further help or advice would be very much appreicated .

If I were him, I wouldn't travel just for this lady after knowing she is still looking!  I would need a Plan B.

I don't know his story..and it may have specifics i'm missing for sure..


but as a general rule, why would a romantic interest  still being listed on EM make any difference in choosing to visit her?

I would expect a person on a internet dating/meeting site to keep their profile intact.
They are there to meet people after all, and they havn't even met you yet,much less decided mutually that you are a couple.

Making things exclusive before meeting seems a recipe for unrealistic expectations of what essential is just a date, a date that takes longer to commute to?
   
If you hit it off great!!plenty of time for exclusiveness then?
If dating locally  people would not do this, so i wouldn't ad in odd complications  to an already more difficult dating situation.

and since they have never met there certainly seems  nothing wrong with that?

He can decide to accept the possibility,and his chances?  and give it his best shot,   sit on the bench, or bow out and look for something more promising..

Certainly I'd  hope he is sure  she was into him enough to sincerely meet, and not flake out, but ultimately it's boy meets girl..
