Looking for the low down on russian online radio.
« on: August 26, 2012, 06:48:09 PM »
I wanted to explore what's out there for russian music, after seeing a few videos on this forum.

Trying to add bands to my pandora channels just doesn't cut it, they had Mumiy Troll, who I find somewhat enjoyable, but all the similar bands shoehorned in after adding them are way too punk rock for my style. They didn't have Zemfira or another band I also liked. I decided to check what online radio stations there are.

I found Nashe Radio, which I have found pretty enjoyable so far. It seems like a mix of pop, rock, and the odd song that sounds like metal, goth, or bouncy/silly.

Is there any online radio stations that you have tried I should make sure to listen to?

a Ukrainian group I like is Okean Elzy -
Океан Эльзы do a search on youtube in either language and they'll pop up.  They have a rather unique rock/pop/bizarroworld sound and writing style.

As far as radio goes.. it seems the cool inet stations come and go and my fav Russian rock station evaporated several months ago.  Now for radio I listen mostly to these two:
http://radio.stilnoe.fm:8080/radio-stilnoe   pop/rock  my "go to" station with a variety from dance to lighter rock.
http://music.myradio.com.ua:8000/pophit128.ogg  pop hits that can also delve into the realm of weird...

I haven't been on the prowl for Russian rock stations in a while.  I'm more of a 70's power rock fan.. Styx, Queen, Triumph, Rush, Boston, Journey, Foreigner, Floyd.. you get the drift..  Not much in that genre on the Russian Front that I've been able to find, but Canada did give us the gems Rush, Triumph and Chilliwack, so there is always hope! heh..
Post ones you run across as well.. as I just went down my list of few I had, and these two are the last ones still standing.. the others refuse to connect.. sheesh..

A lot depends on your age gorzak.

If you are under 30,  TOPDJ.ua will be a great resource for you.

http://www.kissfm.ua if you like dance and you are chasing tail in clubs.

If you are a little older and still living in the 90's
http://www.Radioroks.com.ua
here is the player
http://www.radioroks.com.ua/digiton/index/popup
this is your GEN X 90's throwback station.

A little more toward the hits is
http://www.hitfm.ua/

or try
http://www.rusradio.com.ua/
and
http://musicradio.ua/

another good resource if you are hip and trendy
http://www.m1.tv/
Ukraine's answer to MTV and more.

Or if you are into the elevator romantic and broken heart love songs ( and why wouldn't you be?  :D )

DAveman! remember   KZOK  :)

All your favorite bands, and that red haired kid from the partridge family has a morning show :)

Of all the 70's Rock bands i love as well, I have to say that most of them have not aged well, or their musicianship has gone to hell.  There are exceptions, but only a few.
I saw STYX last year and am going to see them on MOnday at the Evergreen State Fair :)  This is sooo gonna kick ass  !
Styx was my very first favourite band, and  the very first song that got me hooked on them was not on the Grand Illusion cassette that I bought and Listened to till it was shredded and then bought another copy and still have it today and it is still my first favorite album.

The song for me was Renegade:

Tell me that these guys are OLD   HA!
