Muzh, I tend to agree with your opinion rather then Olly's, even though I normally dislike monotonous 2/4 rhythms like those dished out without respite in discos. This is something else, even though its lyrics don't make any sense - but so did scat IIRC .

In 2 weeks you can get a WIFE visa 820. Fiance visa 300 takes 3-6 months.

Olly, processing standards for prospective marriage visa state up to 12 months processing time (it was previously 10 months), it took approximately 7 months for Mrs I/O's prospective marriage visa to be issued, Kunas then fiancee' now wife (they married in Brisbane) received her prospective marriage visa in around 2 weeks.  http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/5.0.htm

id agree with IO ,the processing times can vary greatly
it largely depends on the amount of info you give them , your interview and your medical all stacking up in one line all indicating a real relationship that has developed ,

our fiancee visa took exactly 6 months

some take 9 months , some the rare ones can be granted in weeks ,
i know of partner visa application s that have been granted same day they have been recieved at IMMI ,
dont be surprised if they request more info , it is usual for them at IMMI to lose or misplace documents , keep in contact with your case officer regularly , dont be afraid to ask questions if you feel the need to , they are usually happy to respond

If you are not there in time; your 'husband to be' can probably hire a 'stand in' to take your place at the wedding . . . and for whatever else is needed until you arrive.  I hear this is common 'down under.'

this is not common at all ,
maybe it is becoming a legendary myth overseas about aussies because it was portrayed as such in a famous brand beer commercial here , that the guy [groom ] got a mate to stand in at his wedding as the beer was more important than being present at his wedding 

you can marry by proxy , but it is rare imu
