Sorry, but someone was either being kind to the naive young guy or talking through a hole in their whatsit.  There have been plenty of posts here, including some from our female members, which state quite strongly that the majority of Russian women won't have anything to do with men who aren't "white."
 
Of course there are exceptions, but you will have to be very confident in yourself that anyone you intend to visit is happy with your skin colour.  As has also been pointed out, you may experience more trouble with Russisn (or Ukrainian) men, as witnessed by the group of Indian students who were beaten up at a football match in Ukraine just before Euro 2012.  Don't expect any help from the police if you get into trouble.

I'd say the word is meant to refer to people of African race only.
For someone like our OP Russians may probably use the word 'Indian', regardless of his place of birth of residence, which may also be Sweden.

Yeah, well that's bullsch!t when it's all boiled down. The RW's you see on forums like this are probably a bit more open minded than the representative average. There's exceptions but for the most part you're at the back end of the preference line.
 
I think you'll have a credability issue with the Swedish claim - Russians, particularly Siberians, have Nordic / Scandinavian blood also and they'll be expecting what they know, blond hair and blue eyes so to say.

Yes, for sub-Saharan Africa.   If I enter "negro" into an electronic translator, it answers with негр (or "nigr").

Possibly, but in turn French nègre and Spanish negro derive from the Latin for the colour black, i.e. niger (same as the African river and country).

An anecdote from my grammar school days: our teacher of Letters (whose responsibilities were teaching us Italian, Latin, History & Geography) one day called me out during the Latin hour for an oral quiz, and said:
"Translate: Cane, Nero"
Now that in Italian means 'black dog', so I confidently replied: "Canis niger". 
It turned out that what she had uttered was Latin and meant: "Sing, Oh Nero" (the notorious Roman Emperor with delusions about his musical abilities). 

I had been tricked because one cannot much hear commas and capitalised initials in speech . That's why I still remember what niger means in Latin, after almost 60 years .

P.S.: the Greek for black, dark is μαύρος (máuros), which gave us Moor, Moro, Mauritania, etc.

I Plan to move to russia because where i am right now, i dont really like this country (no offence) but it doesn't suits me.

I think I can relate to your desire to leave your country.
When I was about your age, I had a fascination with New Zealand and the women there.
I had taken a 2 week vacation to Australia and NZ and found the girls there very very attractive.
So much so, that I was hell bent on moving there. ( Part of this desire was probably in sighted by Zena the warrior princess too )

In the FSU, the word 'негр' is perfectly and absolutely normal. Russians were born and bred without all this ideas that were heavily discussed in the West. Some have never seen a real black person in their lives. They have zero idea why and what it is all about the black people.

Aditya, in this thread you've told us you're Swedish and white. Do not tell this to RW you're corresponding with. Based off your photo you will sound like a liar. Just send them your photo and let them decide. No need to explain your skin color or nationality. If they think you're a handsome man that wrote a good introduction letter and you fit their criteria, they will reply. If they think you're dog ugly, no matter how good a letter you wrote, they will not reply.
