O'Reilly factor on about MIB
« on: March 22, 2006, 09:53:15 PM »
I don't know if anyone saw the O'Reilly factor tonight about MOB. It was disturbing that he, first had no clue about the process, and secondly he believed everything from a lawyer from the Women's International Center. The lawyer made it sound like the US men were basically taking advantage of these helpless women, and O'Reilly was claiming that most of these same women only wanted a green card. So all in all, the discussion implied that the whole process is bad. Even though they discussed the background checks that are involved, O'Reilly was flat out saying that if you have the money, you can (buy) bring any woman into this country. Also that the MOB companies get these women the visas and on an on. He did not even know the process involved and he thought they could just get a tourist visa. I never respected him much, but his thorough lack of knowledge on this subject was typical of many (politicians) who want to take away the rights of Americans to seek out their partners just because they may be foreign. I'm all for protection of the spouses (whether male or female, whether foreign or not), but those laws already exist.  He made it sound that all MOB companies are bad,  the men doing it only do it for sex, and the women only want green cards. They didn't even bother getting the other side of the story from happily married couples or respected MOB companies.

I forgot to say that O'Reilly started the segment out something similar to this: The MOB business is booming in America, and thousands of women are not coming to America to marry the man they love, but instead to get into this country, and the men are marrying the women for you know what.

Sure sounds like an unbiased, fair and balanced FOX report.

GRRRRR!

I didn't catch it - but will try to catch the late night rerun.... I can only imagine.....

Well, I have several thoughts - 1st and foremost is I just spent the last 2 weeks trying to "explain" the RW "process" to my aging 70+ y.o. parents and family - for one of their friends, had a son (38) and his (22) RW had just walked out on him... And of course the family is now shredding the RW and the MOB industry calling her a GCG and how they supported her thru her "adjustment" and then just ran... (Blah blah blah)  Well, she was only here 7 months - and he heavily restricted her - So, No Green Card (2 years, Right?) - And this guy is not a real "winner" to begin with - :yech:

But my point is - My AARP parents a RABID fans of "O'Reilly":puke: - Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy FOX over, oh lets say, CNN - But O'Reilly needs his head examined!

Secondly, I've dated 25-27 y.o.'s from Australia, UK, Spain and Greece... And EVERYONE welcomed those women with open arms!!! ?? What the HELL is the difference if she is "one country over" from Greece? Would my GF from Australia get "grilled" by the INS like one from Ukraine? Nope... GRRRRR!

Media ignorance and bias - BLOWS!:seething:

Factor THIS GRRRRR!

O'Reily represents the Right

Clinton/Cantrell/Boxer the Left

Everyone else get's to choose which "side" to support and believe.

One of the most important things a person needs to do when defending himself during a DV trial is to show that he is not the stereotypical male that these groups of people wish to portray us as. There is not much time given during a trial to do this so a person must do everything to show he is not a controling abusive type. Things like being well groomed, wearing a suit and tie with polished shoes are important. Speaking articulant and telling about how much he loved his wife and all the things he did for her is important. Over all the impression should be that of a man who desired a wife and family (it helps that she has children) and not a sex toy (it helps that there is not an extreme age or looks difference) or Stepford Wife.

Thats not a fair thing to say.  O'Rielly is to the right what Micheal Moore is to the left.  A loud mouthed moronic idiot that rouses the rabble, and is a humilation for their respective sides.

Funny thing is though Knack, O'Reilly will be the 1st to say he's not "right"... but yeah, seems to me he leans in the wind that way...

PS: Hey Dan, I see we have 2 identical threads going here - Maybe we should merge them?

Name me one polititian that is on our side of this issue? We have no political cover or backing. The party of VAWA and their feminists don't like us. That's for sure. The party of the Patriot Act is not too fond of us men either. After all we left America and went and married a foreigner, a "commie babe" from the FSU who needs extra background checking before admission into the USA.

Thats not the case really maxx.  Its not about political party.  The right would be orgasmic to have opposed that abomination, but it is political suicide.  The same as the democrats couldnt really come out against the patriot act.  Just look at the names.... The violence against women act... "Oh your against it?? That must mean you are in favor of beating women".  The Patriot Act... "Oh your against the patroit act? I guess your a terrorist hugging traitor!"

I could legalize raping women and molesting children and the demonic sacrific of small animals if I called it the women and children act of 2006.

P.S.  Al Frankin is also a dumbass.
P.P.S.  O'Rielly is a rightwinger, but hes got so many wacky ideas, that will never ever happen one either side of the aisle, (Like his idea that people in jail should be forced into labor camps.

Hi guys - I caught the ORielly bit too.  I wasn't too impressed.  A whiney woman's rights attorney is not who I would look to for "fair and balanced".  Does anybody have the email for O'Reilly?  This would be a good one to shoot back and set em straight....
