I am fairly sure I could get a hot young bimbo in her early to mid 20s interested in me, also I am fairly sure that such a marriage wouldn't last the distance. Hence why I don't even consider looking at that demographic  ;D
So, you are not a decider? ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

 :)

Depends.

I decide, in advance, that any women below 28-29 are out of the equation. Above that age group, I'll let them decide.

I just recently turned 40.

Ok,  I will explain once again.Deciders with blue passport can and will get the woman out of their league. Do I need to explain the reasons?
I guess, I don't.
Then comes the hardest part- keeping this woman in a marriage.
So, yes- long, prosper and GOOD luck, you will need it. 8)
Cal will need more luck. 8)
(ML, thanks for starting this thread))))))))))))) I can't find the new chapers of Cal's TR. Out of mushrooms?)))))))))))))))))

Doll, you are absolutely correct, and I agree with you.  I think though, that you and ML are discussing two separate yet related aspects of the topic.

I am often astounded at how Mr. Spock's logic just (seemingly) blows past a large number of people.  The equation above is a precise mathematical summation of the process.. or at least as a snapshot of a moment, or period of time.  The formula doesn't account for evolutionary mutations - change, growth, development, etc., over time but I doubt he meant it as the answer to The Meaning Of Life...

This is basically what he's said in various places -- you decide your criteria and stick to it. Don't waste your time messing around with those whom you know do not meet your criteria or you theirs (such as women out of your set age range, whatever) and then wasting time with them - time which could be used to meet with others, or, god forbid, wind up married to a woman who really isn't right for you for a myriad of possible reasons-- including, but not limited to, the point Doll makes of KEEPING her after she immigrates (though mastering the Marital Art of Jeespo-titzudo may help).

Aside from being rigid, pun obviously intended, what's in there with which to vehemently disagree?

Mr. Decider has never been, as far as I can remember, a proponent of stalking the youngest, tightest flesh possible.
The duty of a true patriot is to protect his country from its government. -- Thomas Paine

but I do now notice the similarities...
ML as Mr. Spock and his hard line adherence to strictly logic
Doll as McCoy and her passionately trying to get an emotion out of Spock  Dammit!
Daveman as Kirk and his moderating between the two.

lol

ML, dear, what are you going to decide? That you want a woman much younger?
Go ahead. You can certainly pick the one and even marry her. I would NOT bet though she will  stay in this marriage. Once a woman DECIDES to go then she will go.
It is how it is, dear Mr. Decider. :D
You can lead a horse to the river, but can not force it to drink."

drink what?
The alleged common sense about the irrational things called love and relationships?
too funny.

I agree with the general concept of course! big age difference cause issue not present in more conventional relationships.

Now given 50% of all marriages ,regardless any other factors, end with the man , or women walking out anyway  (not staying in the marriage)

i'd really like to know anything of actual substance to any age, vs length of marriage.

(and even then , wouldn't that be a bit natural? since the age itself in a long term marriage would preclude a shorter marriage as death do us part?)

I'm certainly not justifying my choice or decision..or my wife's.

I'm just pointing out
while many sit back and state the obvious common sense theory that
a large age gap is more risky,and i agree that it likely is;

overall in the big picture,, the statistics don't actually seem to back that up with anything of substance.

and in my case i dint contact anyone at all. i simply let women contact me.
Yes of course i choose who i would meet with.Yes i used basic criteria for whom i thought would be compatible, but based far more off actual interaction than some set of criteria.

ultimately the woman chooses if she will marry , generally its up to her to say nyet or da.

Jumper, I'm very happy for you that you found your second half this way! In all the years I've been doing this the women who write to my guys first are usually less attractive, older and overweight. There are exceptions but they are very rare.

Damn it Jim, I'm only human.

What can I do if one of those young, tight, luscious, lustful little numbers want to do it?

Ed- I would never advise anyone to follow my path, and particularly not that detail.

for whatever silly reasons in my case i've always had plenty of interest by simply throwing up a profile most anywhere like EM or other sites..
.yes some were scam of course ,or insincere,  or any number of other such small calamities lol
but really i've just always had far more that i believe were  sincere and interesting than a man could ever fit on their dance card.that ioncluded locally (yes often RW thru mamba as there are many here in my city) so makes it even more strange i'd travel ;) but i did and certainly happy i choose to.

I fully agree men should be the ones contacting , and in the past i did this as well.

The last time i simply wasn't that inspired,  and let things fall where they might with those that contacted me. The old adage when you really arnt truly looking, you find something -happened.

Anyone know what the Starship Enterprise and toilet tissue have in common?
