Sumy, eh?

In contrast to many of the other cities in Ukraine, Sumy is seemed to me to be a rather droll town.  It is a center for education, as you may know, though the schools in Sumy seemed to be specifically focused upon vocational/technical programs.  It is in the heart of the Ukrainian breadbasket as you will see from your ride over on the bus.  Mostly, you will pass through corn and sunflower fields.  As such Sumy has a rather agrarian feel to it.  I was reminded in many ways of Iowa, so the people there tend to be rather down to earth and unpretentious though with a lack of worldly perspective.  Because most Sumians do not drive, the population is fit compared with Iowans, though at the same time the ladies who I saw who were 30+ seemed to have a bit of a haggard aspect.

As for accommodations, I'd highly recommend the Zdbanka hotel on the bank of The Psel river.  It's rather a hoot, done up in old Ukrainian style and with pairings of nude women in the rooms.  Sets a certain tone I'd say and it seemed to be in the center of Sumy's night life with outdoor cafes and arcades all around.  Great for the watching of Ukrainians.  Moreover the Psel river divided old Sumy from the bleak soviet era apartment blocks so you can walk around and see a little bit of that too boot.

Safety?  Well, those Ukrainians can be a gruf lot.  Whilst walking the bridge across the Psel shortly after   arriving some fellow decided to break from his gang and run head long in to me.  Blessed Ukraine.  Sumy is not a cosmopolitan center and so those out of country are easily recognized and they know what you are there for.  Some of the Ukrainian men aren't too happy about it.  I decided to pass on the girl but we went out with some of her friends one night - all attractive, intelligent, educated ladies: with no one on their arm.

Sumy maybe rather droll but I think the hunting is happy. Be interested to read your report.

In Pennsylvania's Amish Country, Lancaster County and surrounding areas, the town named Intercourse is not very far from Gap, which is of course, close to Paradise, PA ...

There is a city in Austria named Fucking.  It is in the Innviertel region.
There are signs outside of town announcing the name;  which are regularly  stolen.

And, believe it or not (you can try a search), there are a couple of members here who have used the word dildo here many more times than I have.

For them;  there is Dildo, Newfoundland.

When doing a hydrology study in Southern California I was amused to encounter in my mapping a small mountain named Nellies Nipple and nearby another named Squaw Tit.  And for you French speakers, in Wyoming we have the glorious Grand Teton National Park.  I guess those early trappers and frontiersmen were horny.

I think that this particular Elvis has left the building - he hasn't logged in since 8th November.

Based on what he intended, I wonder if that's a good or a bad thing?

You forgot the Lancaster PA town of "Blue Ball" which is not that far from Intercourse.

There is "Bocagrande" in Cartagena, Colombia.   Bocagrande is translated as BIG MOUTH in Spanish
