Hey All,
Been away again for awhile but much has been happening. My wife took her written drivers test about a month ago and last week passed the road test as well. I did all the teaching and surprised myself at the patience I displayed. Now I can't say I didn't reprimand her on ocassion but whatever it was I did worked. She doesn't realize yet how much freedom that little card with her pic on it affords her. We live in the country and now being able to get out and do as she wants when she gets bored will open her day up. She can now feel free to get a job as well.
She also received her EAD card about a month ago but we discussed waiting till after getting back from Ukr. to look for work. Oh yeah, we purchased our tickets last weekend. We''l fly out on the 24th of may. I'm staying 3 weeks and Val will return at the end of july. Both of us are really looking forward to this trip. I miss Ukr. and all our friends and family. It's been a year for me. August for her. I think I have all we need to go and return. 1. Tickets 2. passports 3. Notarized marriage cert. 4. I-131(travel doc) 5. original custody doc for our son from Ukr.(some of you know that story as well) 6. Val's EAD card if needed. .... Some one told Val that it would be good to get a apostille stamp applied to her Int. passport with married name on it but I don't know what that process is. Sooooooo, is there anything else we need? I can't believe I DON"T need a visa. Things have changed I do believe. Is there anything at Borispol I need to fill out this time when I enter?
SoC, we were so happy to hear that Irena found her EAD card. You sure dodged a bullet on that one. It was good to talk to you a few weeks ago. Val told me that after her conversation with Irena, she thought Irena was feeling more settled in. She didn't quite use those words but you know how a woman's intuition is. I was glad to hear it. I guess as time passes their new home begins to feel like home. Does that make since? I took a day and went to the local IRS office and they actually filled out W-7, notarized it and sent in our tax forms. Blew my mind dude. They certified a copy of Val's passport since she isn't able to get a SSN(you know that story), and for Ihor they certified a copy of his med records and I-131 travel doc with pic. Again, I about hit the floor when they said they would send this on to Philly for us.
Catz(ken) once again it was good to talk to. I know the gals can't wait to see each other again in a few weeks. It's going to be a pleasure to have you as company.
