You can never envision a grand love based on a relationship where she took a dump for month long breaks.  I have had some wonderful relationships with women, but once there is a reason to separate, I never imagine going back.

Like I have written before . . . Vinny and I don't understand why many guys continue pursuing and trying to 'stick' with women who are clearly not that interested in them; when there are thousands right around the next corner.

Okay, that background makes it sound more reasonable. The long absence however should be a question mark that deserves exploring but again it depends on how many times you've met.

I kind of pressed her on the issue recently after doing a little detective work. I was looking at her photos that she sent me and looked at the dates which coincided with her long absences. I made the point that I realized now why and when she was gone and asked why she simply did not communicate when she returned, and she just said that she doesn't dwell on the past, only on the future. We have only met two times in person, but we have spent a lot of time writing and Skyping. although not as much recently. But she writes every two days.

I plan to keep going back as long as it takes to win her over, or to get an answer if she wants to stay together.

Yes, I have been pondering that a lot recently. We did have a really good time over Christmas break. So I guess I am waiting to see if we move forward at all in the next few months or so.

I remember this stage from a  similar experience.

The short story is the AW I was after ended up marrying somebody else.

I think I've heard this expression on this very site and particularly a good clue now:  If she wants you, she will not leave any room for doubt that she does.

My vote is to move on.
