I think you're right. I sent the affidavit of support three weeks ago because she said she needed it. Even though I've had nothing but cold business-like emails for months.
I have no idea if she even still wants to come.

And you would consider marrying someone with this personality?  Time to get over your broken heart and move on.

I think you need to get over yourself and first learn to interact with the opposite sex before you put yourself in a position of submitting yourself emotionally to any woman...

Oh man! Where do I even start? The immigration case workers at my congressman's office told me how to start the visa ball rolling. USICS in Vermont wasn't on the same page at all. Considering the grammer they used in our correspondance I doubt they could read beyond a 6th grade level. The US Travel Documents visa office in Moscow couldn't find anyone to speak English. I'd ask, "Pa Engliski?" and I got, "Nyt!" I'd get put on hold and the call was over. Nor could they make up their mind on what documents they were demanding of me. Then there was the idiot I spoke with at the US state department who had problems finishing a sentence without a half dozen, "Ummmmm,"! And as a whole, none were on the same page!
I'm embarassed to say my taxes pay some of these people's incredible salaries!
Worse yet, I happen to have a big mouth, especially when discussing the shortcomings of government in general and I had to keep my mouth shut because these idiots had all the power.

Amen. I am no expert, but I think you have to 'pace' yourself. I think it's a good idea to be generally 'gracious' and not allow small things to become huge obstacles. The ability to forgive is important. Are you considerate of each other? Are you sensitive to her needs? Is there loyalty? Knowing that you are both committed to each other, makes it easier to handle the bumps in the road. A sense of humor really helps....  Hey, good to be back!  -doug
PS Yes Ray- The queen/servant relationship can become too unbalanced. Instead it should be more like 'queen/king'.

Why would you even want a woman like this in your life? I am engaged to a Ukrainian woman who is the most considerate, caring, loving woman I have ever known in my life. You don't have to look thousands of miles to find unfeeling, inconsiderate women; they are all around you in the USA.

Yeah- it is possible to be arrogant AND also have such low self-esteem that you accept bad behavior from someone you barely know, while still entertaining the idea of marrying her. Sheesh!

C'mon kennethsc, relax. If you just seek slaps on the back and affirmations you've come to the wrong place. You may not like or agree with much of the comment and advice here but, you'll be better prepared and a better man for knowing it
