Personally, I think it is a waste of time to try and expose scammers.  There are so many of them and the process of investigating them and exposing them is not worth the time and effort.

Newbies coming to this forum and becoming educated about how to detect scammers is the best solution.  Many techniques are discussed here that will expose a scammer amost immediately and there is little risk of being scammed.

For those that don't come here to learn....... that's their problem.  There is no other way to contact them in advance to come here and learn the ropes of FSU dating. Perhaps getting stung once causes them to do more research before spending more of their money.

Within the business model of agencies, this is a money maker, and as long as it is the main money maker they are not going to change.
As long as 97% of the men in those agencies is more interested in a virtual girlfriend as in a life partner, we can only hope that those men and women who do try to seriously search can learn to avoid these areas and get in to direct contact another way.
I heartily agree with you on all points.  In a way, this reminds me of the Mortgage Loan industry of the late 90s.  I watched as loan officers made millions of dollars on questionable transations.  My observation is that if a loan officer wanted to play it straight, he/she could.  But if he/she wanted to bilk the client out of money, there were no restrictions against doing that either.  Now the only loan officers that are left in the industry are the honest ones who built up good business followings.  Industry regulations and the fact that the country was brought to its knees insures that such a thing should and could no longer happen.   I am sure the loan companies in those Wild West days were altruistic in their ideals.  But the lure of easy money made preying on the public standard issue.

This MOB industry is not playing with financing a home, instead it is playing with the emotions of a man and a woman.  In some cases, honesty and integrity on both sides of the transaction win out and there is a match.  But in most cases, one or both of the parties are only in it for personal gain or satisfaction.  There is no model that I am aware of that can be applied to this industry that will stop the fleecing of stupid men.    And I cannot imagine an authority group who wants to step in and stop the model from happening.  Perhaps Doug has it right.  Show the newbies how to detect scammers and let everyone play on.

What might be worse than finding your AFA or similar agency girl on other sites is finding your new friend on Sandro43's list/web page.

sorry... i cannot relate to any guy who has time to waste on unpaid 'detective' work, rather than spending his time on productive activities that will help him achieve his goal of finding a compatible woman.

besides... does anyone think scammers use their own photos?  lol.

Let me in to say "Hello gentlemen!"  :)
Of course no one can make an omelet without breaking eggs.
The question is when you are making chicken egg omelet, why break quail eggs ???  ;D

For me, the debate isn’t about whether the people/agencies involved in scamming should be exposed or not. They should be spotted and placed on the scammer lists! But only those found guilty.
With respect to the women whose pictures were used in the vk profiles that the OP referred to, my "verdict" so far is "not proven".

Newbies, this has been advised on here many times: avoid using corrupted pay-per-letter agencies, go to free dating site.
BTW, your fortune may well unfold in here: http://claritaslux.com/girls/vkontakte/

Good luck!

Based on my quick look, this  looks like  a promising  site that should  be added to  my "Pursuing FSUW 101."

Thanks much Moon Goddess!!

Guys, check it out and advise if it can safely  be added to my list.

Guys, check it out and advise if it can safely  be added to my list.

I looked at the site in the link and read all the comments.  I seems like it is nearly identical to Facebook.  From what I gather it is primarlily used by members to stay in contact with family and friends.

Personally, on Facebook I reject all contact requests from people I do not know.  Otherwise I would have thousands of 'friends'.  Some people like this, I do not.  I barely have time to keep up with family and close friends on Facebook.

Some of the comments posted in the link suggest that it is similar on VK.  It will be interesting to see if any members have had success in getting women on VK to respond to their contact requests.

vkontakte is indeed the Russian version of Facebook and similar in its working.
While it could be used for dating, I would not recommend it as a prime resource on a list.

I fully agree with the comparison here. However where the problems with the economy have caused the loan business to clean themselves up, for the MOB business the percentage of men NOT being able to have more than a virtual friend might actually have gone up.
The business dealing with travel and accomodations as wel as interpreting might have felt the downturn, but that does not mean that the number of men who lost their family due to losing their job and home and now dream of finding someone to rebuild their life with has gone down.

Shaming women who are indeed scammers or thieves or whatever is about the most you possibly hope to do, as there is not much else that can be done,
short of ....
...Hey, does this rag smell like chloroform to you?
:)

I think there are sites specifically set up just for that purpose, and should you encounter an unscrupulous individual and be taken advantage of , ripped off, lied to, cheated on, scammed, hoodwinked, bamboozled, or have the wool pulled over your eyes while your money was taken from you. Then by all means, post what you have and warn others.

If you do so, just be damn sure that you know what you are doing and have proof beyond any doubt.

What happened in this thread, as it stands now,  he had 1  of  3 possible that he was correct about.
The rest is like miss GOMG said " not proven "  or in other words Inconclusive.
Making false claims or accusations is the same thing as scamming, is it not?

take the information to a scam site where is can be verified and documented.

If I remember right, there was a study done on American profiles that people put on US dating websites.  People lied in 80% on the profiles.  Age, weight, height, and income.  Women said they were 10 pounds less.  Guys said they were 2 inches taller.  And the older they were, the worse guys were on over stating actual income.  A good rule of thumb was incomes were 20% less than whatever a guy claimed.

Folks lie on profiles.  If you are only now realizing this, then you are really slow and have bigger problems in life....like avoiding getting your tongue stuck against the frozen window on the short bus.

Folks have the wrong idea about scammers though.  They aren't the problem.

There is a very simple way to stop 99% of the scammers overnight.  Peaceful, voluntary, and honest.  No investigations, regulations, or governmental involvement needed.  But it will NEVER happen.

The way to shut down scammers is this:
Men stop contacting girls looking for a relationship if he is more than 15 years older than her.  They limit themselves to age appropriate women they are compatible with.
Men stop acting like drunken customers at a strip bar or sex tourists - they treat women with respect, and not as sex objects.

The problem is not the FSU women or scammers.  They just provided a service the market demanded.  If old jerks want to act like sex tourists, then it is only reasonable that the women get paid well.  The problem is that most guys contacting the ladies are not serious about a real marriage relationship - they just want to buy a fantasy relationship.  Who can blame the free market economy for supplying what the market demanded?

I think it is extremely insulting to a young lady to have some guy old enough to be her dad (or grandpa) slobbering all over her.  If she can empty his wallet - I say good for her.  The guy was willingly buying a fantasy.

Why wasn't everyone throwing a fit when that 80 year old billionaire was slobbering over Anna Nicole Smith at a strip club, throwing money at her, and then married her?  It was his money.  No one twisted his arm.
Why is it ok for Anna Nicole Smith to get gobs of money from the old guy, but everyone cries foul if it is a FSU woman accepting an old guys money?

Most idiotic post from most pussy whipped man I have read here.

If people didn't earn any money or have any assets, then there wouldn't be robbers.  So it is the victims own fault for getting robbed.  The free market merely provides the robbers that are demanded.

Just where is it that you get all of this *cough* good advice? Did you just make this stuff up on your own or is it something you've read from other guys that didn't know shit from shinola? You've never made a trip and to hear you tell it you are not even looking for a relationship, just hoping one comes a long. Your every post runs into a couple of chapters quote and verse.

You should probably start prefacing each of your posts with "In my not so humble opinion" because I've got to tell you guy, that's all it is. Little to nothing useful to anyone other than yourself to inflate your obviously undersized ego. I've not said this but, maybe once in all my time on these boards but, you really should forget about going to Ukraine and seeking out any woman. It's likely going to be a very painful experience for you. Gain some real life experience with the ladies at home and sometime when you've grown a bit, venture out to others parts of the globe

Hi, guys. I never expect that there were so many replies to my post, I never thought that this could cause so many problems, sorry about that. My intention was to help you, even in a little way. So, newjason, Daveman I don’t know what’s your problem guys I’m just trying to help. Maybe it wasn’t in the right way but… well, nobody is perfect. However, I’m agree with you that maybe I shouldn’t post their VK profiles but not the AFA profiles because I think that the guys that are looking for a mate (girlfriend, wife, whatever) we need to know what AFA’s (or other agency) profile are fake so we can be aware that is the agency who is trying to scam us with these specific fake profiles.

I want to be clear that I’m not accusing the girls, I’m accusing AFA for publish fake profiles. As many of you know, these agencies take profiles of hot girls from VK, facebook or other web pages and they publish a fake profile with their photos, sometimes without the authorization of the girls. So, I’m not saying that the girls are corrupt. Actually one of the messages that I sent to one of this girls was the following: “Hi, I received a letter from you through foreign affair marriage agency, did you really send me this letter?” and she answered me: “No, I do not have in the agency, is not me”. So, I don’t know if the girls are innocent or not, I just posted their VK profiles so you could see it four yourself, but like I said before that was a mistake, my point was to warning you about the AFA fake profiles, that's it. In other hand, I think that the girls in question are used to receive this kind of messages (in their vk account I mean), after all is probably that their pictures are been circulated on different web sites for a while, and I don’t think that I’m the ONLY ONE who have seen their VK profile and ask them something about this.

I found these girls because I received a letter to my AFA account from two of them, so I looked for them in VK because I wanted to know if they were real. The third one I found her for “accident”. What would you have done in my place? Would you have responded blindly to this letters? If you have the chance to look there profiles in VK, why don’t do it? So, I didn't "waste my time" looking for fake girls, actually I was looking for REAL GIRLS and I found this. So, you could have asked me about this before to say all this accusations and things about me; like I said before, all that I wanted was to help.

GOB: I’m not sure to understand your question about the age. I’m 29 and I don’t think to be so far from 19 or 20 years old, but honestly I don’t care because my targets are girls around 25-27.

The traveler: yes, I’ve try to make “friends” in vk but the big problem is the language, the most of the girls in vk speak Russian and I don’t speaking it. However, I have like 5 girls that they accepted me as friend, even two of them send me a “happy birthday” message for my birthday. Personally, I think that VK is a very good place to know real girls from Eastern Europe but you must speak Russian if you want to facilitate the process.

I release that the links of the vk’s profiles are no showing in the post any more. Maybe there is a privacy policy that I forgot to read, perhaps it was a mistake to show the vk’s profiles, after all maybe this girls are “innocents”. So I just show their AFA’s profile, so you would know what girl’s profiles are probably “fake” or you could ask me through internal message.

Thanks Jone for your support.

P.S. sorry about my Spanglish! jaja.

Here's a thought.

My FB page as well as my VK page are tied to my picture.  Anyone wanting to find my personal details can, simply by looking up the picture.  It is not rocket science.  When I was exploring pay per letter sites, few woman made the effort, although I was told again and again (cough!) from many women that I was to be the love of their life.

But using Ukraine Date, Elena's Models and Bride.ru, again and again, I had people check me out through facebook or VK.  Real women want to know that you are real too.   It is human nature.  To my knowledge only one woman that I had contact with through a PPL ever made any connections of what my name was, confirmed that I was real and telling the truth.

Frankly, it just proves that whoever is answering the messages and chats on the other end of the line is simply not interested in a relationship.

End of story.

And Chilie, loved your honesty and your post.  I hope you hang around.  Your discovery process is rational and not overly dramatic.   It should serve you well if you continue looking for a significant other.  Just stay away from PPL sites.  Like Nancy Reagan used to say about drugs:  "Just say no."
