Thanks!  She just gave me the weather report and there is now 1 ft of snow there. I found a webcam and just took a look, and she wasn't exaggerating! I live the SW, so we just started wearing sweaters only two days ago where I live. I am not used to that kind of weather except when I go snowboarding, and then I have to drive 2.5 hours north to the ski resort. Looks like I need a new pair of galoshes. I don't think tennis shoes are going to cut it!

She said that people are just leaving their cars where they sit. Well, that's all fine since everything is within walking distance from her apartment. What worries me is the weather on arrival there and possible delays etc. The last time I went, I got stuck in the airplane in Germany for 7 hours until they could deice the plane. The weather took them by surprise and they were unprepared. LOL! I was the only one on board smart enough to have brought food and snacks, so I was very popular that day, but do not wish to repeat it.
You should be worried about weather!!! Just got a report from a reliable source( ;) ) there is plenty of snow in the area and the roads in Kiev are jammed......cars stuck!!! Wish you some luck next week with your flights!!
BTW....there was one time I flew into Kiev as it was snowing heavily.

Ugh! That's what I was afraid of! She was hoping for better weather next week. I will be sure to post my report when I get there.

Thanks for the update!

Good luck on the weather.  My Gal in Kiev yesterday told me power was out all day due to snow covered trees knocking out the power lines.  Also, phones are all out.  She was unable to see any cars in the parking lot below her flat.  They are all buried in snow.  LOL
She did not relish having to dig her car out by hand.

Her driving must have not been too successful either.  She showed me a large plastic item that apparently came from the undercarriage (now stored in the apartment).  LOL

Hope you have a great time in spite of the weather.  The forecast doesn't look too great either.

I think, if you like this one, to stick on her an invest time. Second visit two years after is very long. You are very lucky to have kept her. Especially if she has some opportunities to travel abroad. Now it's time to schedule the next trip ASAP. How old is she ?

Should be between 50 US cents and a dollar per kilometer.
Distance is 300 km.

Thanks Stirlitz for the info.

Yes, I agree, two years was a very long time, and I am not really sure what was going on in her head. She is not really talkative at times and others she is very outgoing, so I am a little puzzled to say the least. Something clicked in her head 6 mo ago and she has been communicating daily ever since, so I am hoping to shed some light when I get there. She asked is I had any girlfriends here in the past year and of course I hadn't. But she went very quiet for a 6 month stretch but said she was taking care of her mother who was pretty sick for a while there according to her.

She is 31 and pretty close to her family but says she is ready to move on. Her mother is a doctor
and works some crazy hours.
