AFA Hits the Television
« on: January 11, 2013, 06:08:54 PM »
I must be someone important now, because after calling out John Adamss, I am now on his email list.  Here is an announcement of his new TV show:

The Phoenix-based company A Foreign Affair is the focus of a new reality show on The National Geographic Channel that will premiere on Saturday, January 12th, 2013 at 11:00 pm EST (9:00 pm MST).

BACHELORS ABROAD goes inside the wild world of international romance tours. Head off on a ten day tour of Ukraine where American men throw themselves full on into the search for something they can't find in the USA -- a BRIDE. Each year, John Adams’s Phoenix, AZ-based company, A Foreign Affair, takes men on trips around the world -- from Cartagena to St. Petersburg to Kiev and the Philippines -- with one goal in mind: finding a bride. Hundreds of women in their hometowns sign themselves up for the chance at a better life in America through this fast-paced route to marriage.

Feedback anyone?  This is a pay-per-letter site and home to a great number of scammers.

Well,i think it's perfectly normal for three young women to throw themselves at an overweight elderly man don't you ?
I mean look how those girls are vying for his attention...i can only imagine the wild fantasies running through those lucky girls minds.

Am i missing something here ? Doesn't this happen all over the world...not just in Ukraine ?

These guys that get scammed out there in Ukraine are clearly doing something wrong.
It doesn't matter if you're old, bald, fat, ugly, senile and broke, with the charisma of a corpse,AFA will show you that young Ukrainian hotties can't wait to seduce you and marry you,to set up a cozy home with you...yes you.
Your only problem is knowing which young lady to choose, from the teeming multitudes anxious to win your heart.

What's that you say ? The cost seems rather expensive ?
Perish the thought..what price true love ?
And anyway, whilst you're in your dotage, she can bring home the money to keep you in the style you're accustomed to,working down the local lap-dancing club.

You've heard about pro-daters and scammers in Ukraine ? Nah,you're too smart for that, not like all the other losers on these forums and scam sites, who are only too willing to part with their money to those girls.

Anyway, the experienced guys on those forums will tell you only stupid newbies fall for the scammers tricks, not clever guys like you and them.
However, you must be prepared to give gifts and financial help to a sincere girl who loves you, otherwise you'll be thought of as greedy and not a worthy man for consideration as a prospective husband, but you're smart so you'll know what to do : )

Just remember,it only takes one trip to find the love of your life,or maybe another, and then another, before you actually decide which girl you want, and think of all the fun you'll have with them in the meantime, because they will do ANYTHING to gain your attention. >:D

Roll-up,roll-up,and get your credit cards out,and be prepared for the wonders that await you in Ukraine.

Just saying it like it is.

Fantasy sells better as reality. Which is why most reality shows are showing fantasy.

All reality TV shows are essentially scripted / edited heavily to fit whatever the producers want to show.  So I might watch a few clips but certainly don't expect any wisdom to come of doing so.

I don't expect you'll find any wisdom there either. High priced cattle marching to meet the younger cattle. There will always be older men wanting and willing to pay for young flesh. A practice as old as time, just in a different de Jour

Reasons to be concerned about "Bachelors Abroad" the reality fantasy show
« Reply #5 on: January 12, 2013, 12:53:58 PM »
I wrote a blog post about this on my site and I'm 100% convinced it will be negative

Here's my blog post: http://dreamconnections.com/bachelors-abroad-reality-show-begins-on-national-geographic-should-you-be-concerned/

I actually spoke with Bud Patterson about this and he had concerns back in September, but just said that they don't have control over what is edited and created.  He hoped it wouldn't be another NightLine.

I shot him an email and he said, "Mark, believe me I almost flipped when I saw the summary statement as well.  It will be most interesting to see what the finished product is like.  I too hope it draws more positive attention to our business and the few good people who are trying to operate in it like yourself, your lovely wife... I have no doubts it will bring a mixed bag of reaction and attention..."

I'm going to get my wife involved to help balance the Ukrainian woman's perspectives as well.  We'll probably do a video response.

There is reason for concern.

This was obviously a one-off show and not a series.  It was a good program and accurately reflected the AFA tour experience.

However, having Bob Ray as a dater was fake - obviously - he's one of their tour guides.

The problem with the AFA tour experience is still the same.  You're thrown in a room with 200 plus ladies with no game plan and you have to go find a translator to help.  Even if you connect with someone you're off to another city the next day and the momentum is lost.

However, this will be a positive for our industry because it made it look possible for good men to meet gorgeous women and more guys will want to give it a chance.

One recent video is at

A FOREIGN AFFAIR- Busted by Bochene for running sex tours&global teenage porn ring!    I hope he does have actual proof in his follow up videos.  As the website he mentions in this video could be dismissed by saying it was an affiliate who did it.  Even though they are on the same IP, doesn't mean it's officially AFA putting the links on the site.
anyway, curious to everyone's thoughts.

I watched it and I could sense the loneliness and sadness from both parties: the men down on their luck who were booted from their own home after years of marriage, and the single Ukrainian mothers who are past their prime. This is really their last chance at happiness, for both. The media always portrays these marriages as predatory: either rich old guys chasing after naive foreign girls or gold-diggers after lonely rich guys. I see neither case except two lonely people who are essentially "priced out" of their respective dating markets. Anyway, plenty of single guys date and marry single mothers in the US. I imagine Russian men are averse to raising someone else's kid. It seems like in this case, two perceived wrongs make a right: lonely single guy gets lonely single girl and their kids have a chance at a normal family life.
And who are people kidding when they make it seem like marriages are not out of convenience: all marriages should be made out of convenience because if that person doesnt add anything to your life (or worse, takes away), then it is inconvenient to be married.

I remember a guy on this forum accusing AFA of being in the porn industry. I didn't believe him so he sent me a PM of some porn sites and directed me to read the addresses of the Custodian of Records that all porn sites are required by federal govt. to list. It's the same address AFA uses.
