Politics Ukrainian Style..... murders, beheading, etc
« on: January 29, 2013, 12:04:42 PM »
It was a confusing Skype chat this morning with my Gal in Kiev.  She was unable to get to the courthouse to submit some documents.  Police lines everywhere.  Something about a murdered jouranalist.   I found an article in the Kiev Post that describes the incident.  A Police General murdered a jouranlist about 3 years ago and was finally sentenced to life in prison today.  He implicated two high ranking politicians who have not been charged in ordering the murders.

The whole story would make a great Soviet movie.  Beheadings, burying the body parts in different locations, etc.

The year 2000. Yep, I was just about to comment that former president Kuchma most certainly must have been involved and then read this,
Quote
Although Pukach implicated former President Leonid Kuchma and his former chief of staff Volodymyr Lytvyn in the murder, they have not been charged.

Sadly more than one journalist met with death much too soon while Kuchma was in power. It was part of a pattern.

Did you know this 'general' was hiding in plain sight? Police knew for years where he was.

What a circus.

BTW, the court that tried him is the best court in Ukraine money can buy.
