Everything you could consider to be a relationship block; the usual suspects are, religion, politics, children (discipline, education, languages, father's role, etc), career/education expectations or not, family contact expectations (parental importing, visits here/there), pets.


If you are a right leaning  fundamentalist Catholic that expects her to drop sprogs every other year while chained to the kitchen sink and she's a left leaning, career focused feminist you should probably know before you commit to anything serious.

Yes indeed!   While determining if your expectations and values are aligned, pay particular attention to your interaction, e. g., her optimism, her respect of your opinions, her enthusiasm, her sense of humor, her sensse of fair play, etc.  Personality and character compatibilities are more important IMO than the religious and political views of young people.

My ex-wife and I were both liberals in our young days and upon starting a business, buying a house and having our first son, we quickly metamorphosed into conservatives.    She still voted for Democrats for a few more years, and today my sons tell me she keeps the Fox News on 24-7.

Weather, weather, weather! Got to know what the weather is going to do! I would not get involved with such serious topics early in dating local ladies. If getting involved with ladies overseas, serious topics need to be discussed beforehand to make a good but expensive decision to go on a first date. What are dealbreakers for you? Opposite views on politics, religion, abortion, children etc....? That is what you need to discuss.

Seriously, you won't know what to talk about until you have met her.  If the lady loves talking about sports, great for me, but I will know if she is pretending to be interested in sports, only to impress me.  In the long-term, she will get fed up with it.   It is best to be yourself.
