Green Card Girls (GCGs) are about the worse scam that can happen to a WM. They can steal the love, money, home and good name from a naïve unsuspecting husband. In their wake, they can leave a WM with a prison record, emotional turmoil and financial ruin. GCGs are nothing in comparison to any other scam. They are the most damaging and underhanded of scams.
How does one recognize a GCG. It is not always easy to determine if any given RW is or will be a GCG. Some will already have boyfriends in Russian that they plan to marry once they become established in their new homeland. Others GCGs may already have boyfriends in an other country where the husband becomes the mule for bringing the two love birds together. Others are going it alone figuring that they don’t need any man except for extorting money from.
In my mind there are two types of GCGs. One is where the RW intends to perpetrate this crime from the get go. The other is a conditional or potential GCG. Each has their own particular mindset and timelines.
Premeditative GCGs often are looking for well-off WM that advertise their wealth and lifestyle. They will more likely refuse a pre-nup in any shape or form. Often, they will accept the proposal of a WM that most serious RW would refuse on the basis of unacceptability as viable husband material. They will often delay onset and decrease frequency of intimacy because of lack of any true affection. Such GCGs have larceny in their hearts and don’t care who they hurt along the way of getting what they want. They will attempt to cover their cold, calculating, vain, and demanding nature for as long as required. I have heard the stories of RW that asked for a divorce on the same day they received their GC. I’ve heard more stories of GCGs that could not wait that long and used bogus DV charges to guarantee their GCs.
Potential GCGs are those that may use the GCG strategy if their husbands don’t pan out as they had hoped. These are RW that agree to a proposal conditional to what they will find on the other end of the silver bird trail. If all is as they hoped and the husband is compliant to all their demands, then they will stay. However, few husbands that have any sense of self-worth will bow to such demands for long. Consequently, a number potential GCGs will implement the Premeditative GCGs strategy, just at a later date.
Regardless of which type of GCG you are most unfortunate to encounter in your life, you will be in need of professional help… and fast. Consult a good divorce attorney before doing or saying anything.
The best defense against GCGs is to choose carefully the RW you decide to marry. Be ever vigilant of red and yellow flags. Don’t be quick to rationalize anomalous behavior as ‘cultural differences’. Choose a RW that is a reasonable match with you. And if things are not all right as rain by the wedding day, don’t’ get married.
