Redlands Professional Bicycle Classic - Staged Races

Here in Redlands, California we are in the midst of the Redlands Bicycle Classic.  A profesional race with riders from foreign nations as well as local riders.  For those interested in bicycle racing, you can click on the link below and check out the web site for more information.

It's quite a thrill to watch so many riders bunched together throughout the entire race.  I watched the mens competition in Stage 3.  The course was about 1 mile and they rode for 90 minutes.  According to one of the marshals on a motorcycle, they averaged about 35 MPH.

Tomorrow is the Stage 4 race which is  a much longer course and involves some long hills, so hope to position myself on the downhill leg.  They outght to be screaming by me.

The web site also has the history of the events and past race results.  Redlands has many bicycle events each year.  Even the kiddies and handicaped folks get an opportunity to compete.   Check the 'About' tab on the website.
