By saying teacher-figure I mean the role which I know - of adult having decision power, but without blood relation. I am professional teacher so I already have skills of this kind.

Just a quick word if I may.
I second missAmeno - this "teacher" style might not be the right vehicle to take you through. It might be well compromised, with hidden traps about it.

I have a suggestion. Why don't you start a thread - if/when ready and willing of course - about  interaction with step-children?
I am sure there will be posters to share experiences and lessons learned (myself included).
