Texting/SMS in Russian

I was looking through Nadia's SMS messages the other day, with her permission of course! She has a Russian friend at uni, female and they txt constantly, even sat next to each other in class....

Anyway it amused me how they use latin characters to represent Cyrillic where posssible. Like * to represent 'zh', y for 'u', 6 for 'b', x for 'kh'. Makes it hard to read till u get used to it.

One txt said 'Steve 6olshoi mydak' which Nadia tells me means I'm a great guy! Sweet!
