How much chance do you stand to be number 1 with your RW?

I came across an interesting remark in ML's reply to Werebear's recent request to ask a RW (preferably one from Moscow) a question about his situation with a RW (presumably from Moscow) to whom he is writing:

it's true you will never be number one with your gal; you will be way down the line after her children, parents and maybe brothers and sisters.

What are your thoughts on this?

"I'll have large fries and a milkshake."

The policeman asked the driver to get in the police cruiser and took him away.

Someone else had to drive me home.

I don't think this is about choosing who you gonna pull out of fire first, I think it's about everyday life.

I think there is an ebb and flow to life and such things change over time. After the honeymoon phase has passed comes the reality of life, especially if kids are involved. There were years, good ones, where we spent a lot of time with the tasks of raising daughters. Such things take teamwork with both parents on the same team and as you only get children for a few years, and while there is no such thing as a picture perfect family, we tried to make them and family number one.

After college/university we transitioned into getting 2 of the 3 married off (taking dowry offers on the remaining one, 30% special thru the end of June) and in more recent times we've finally seen some opportunities to do more of the "us" stuff and God willing that will continue. Both of us try to live as if the other spouse is more important than ourselves and as normal human beings that doesn't always happen, but when it does the chemistry is incredible.

Her children will be the number one, beyond all doubts. Parents and lovers are negotiable. Brothers, sisters, friends and pets can be safely taken out of  equation.
