Russia's Vladimir Putin and wife Lyudmila divorce
« on: June 06, 2013, 12:35:14 PM »
Quote
Russian President Vladimir Putin and his wife Lyudmila have said their marriage is over.
The couple, who had been married for 30 years, made their divorce public on Russian state television after attending a ballet performance.
"It was a joint decision: we hardly see each other, each of us has our own life", Mr Putin said.
Mrs Putin had rarely been seen in public in recent months, prompting much speculation in Russian media.
She is known to dislike publicity, and told the TV that flying was difficult for her.
The divorce was "civilised" and the couple would "always remain close", she added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his wife Lyudmila have said their marriage is over.
The couple, who had been married for 30 years,

I think it was the 4th term of the 7-year-itch that did him in.

I have always liked this couple and admired Lyudmila because of her being a great mom and a naturally feminine lady. I think I have a similar personality and I would never be able to enjoy being the centre of attention but enjoy simple joys of life  instead. It was a good job, though, Lyudmila. I am really sorry to hear all mean jokes and people making fun of their divorce and their personal life.
I understand why it was hard for her as you are always discussed and always under pressude when you are the First Lady. Hopefully they both are happy now and enjoy family reunions from time to time. I would give them both  a big hug.

I have always liked this couple ...

In the 2002 biography, "Vladimir Putin: The Road to Power," the president's wife conveyed a litany of grievances about him, an accumulation dating back to the earliest days of their courtship.
Biographer Oleg Blotsky recounted the emotional wounds Putina suffered from her husband's absences, inattention and habitual tardiness. When they were dating in the early 1980s in Leningrad, now called St. Petersburg, Putin would routinely leave her waiting for more than an hour at appointed meeting places in grubby subway stations, Putina told Blotsky.
"The first 15 minutes would pass normally, and even a half-hour would be OK. But after an hour, I would nearly cry out of humiliation," she recalled of a three-year courtship. "His excuse was always that he had been held up at work, for which, by the way, he was always very punctual. But in his personal life he was sloppy."
Putina, now 55, also told Blotsky that Putin lied to her about his espionage work for the first 18 months she knew him, that he would criticize her cooking when his late arrival meant the meat was dry and that he was away on a business trip when their first child was born, forcing her to hail a cab for the hospital while in labor.  (c)

Oooops, they both are adults responsible for their lives and actions. Of course the rest of the world have wonderful relationships, they never argue and don't cheat, don't have any bad habits, don't abuse each other verbally or physically, don't lie about their jobs when they are secret agents and if their job has a "top secret" label on it they of course tell their family members about it to lose their job and go to jail, for example prince Charles never cheated on Diana and prince of Monaco is also perfect as well as Sarkozy, or Clinton. So from this perspective their marriage isn't perfect.

To be honest here, Lyudmila was an adult when she married him and had known what type of a personality he had before she married him (she mentioned that in the book you gave the link to, too) and she knew he isn't the one you can apply some pressure to achieve something. It was fine with her he was a bossy type.
She could have said "no", she didn't.

For some reason you forget that  she wasn't afraid of telling all those things in 2002, when Putin became a president, she was honest, they are honest now, they could have had a "cover" relationship for the public, he could have had mistresses, like what you are blaming "All married Russian men" for here, but they preferred to end their relationship officially.
And still people are not happy, may I ask is there any way to make you or the rest of our perfect world happy?!

According yellow press the next paramour of Putin is Alina Kabaeva, former gimnast champion and political figure now. I like her (30 y.o., 164 cm, 50 kg). It's pity their relationship is fake, the most likely.

Who are they, and are they married to each other?  ;D   The gentleman's appearance and hairstyle are eerily reminiscent of a ventriloquist's dummy.

Shame on you!   You should know iconic Russian figures!    :P   These are Alina Kabaeva (from the post above) and forever young Iosif Kobzon, who was singing from TV screens when I was growing up with exact same rug on his head.

The height of vanity.  The photos suggest that  Iosif and Alina are discussing what food to give to the animal perched on the top of his head. :D
