For some reason you forget that  she wasn't afraid of telling all those things in 2002, when Putin became a president, she was honest, they are honest now, they could have had a "cover" relationship for the public, he could have had mistresses, like what you are blaming "All married Russian men" for here, but they preferred to end their relationship officially.

Lyudmila's and Vladimir's decisions are  private matters.  Yet, he is a very public figure, so political adversaries and bored people poke their noses into the matter and make judgments just as done at RWD.

Quote
And still people are not happy, may I ask is there any way to make you or the rest of our perfect world happy?!

Personally I don't care.  I did not care when it was President Clinton, a man I liked, although his lying bothered me given that he is the President and sets a moral example for the nation.   I would not care if it were Michelle and Barrack, two people I dislike.

Here is couple politicians during Duma session, obviously deep into solving Russia's problems...   ;)

Olga, it's amazing, I live in Russia  every day and I only see nasty stuff when I see your posts. :D
I come home, check my mailbox, read news headlines and "like" pictures of my friends in social network.
As soon as I come here I see Olga found something nasty about Russia again and thought that would be great to turn another thread into a stinky trash can.

When do you have time for that all?! Why to run from that life which is so bad in your opinion and spend HOURS of your happy marital life in the US to look for something nasty about Russia online and sharing it here?

The amount of low-class humor including sexual one coming from you makes me wonder if you are a female or a male that has spent some time living in the FSU. I can't imagine that this wonderful lady with roses and feathers in her hair with thousands of avatars posing with her husband would find humor about "т---я п---да" funny and appropriate for posting here and anywhere else.

If you are of that low opinion of people here why to be here? That's simply disrespectful.

Since I find zero information coming from you informative and useful I have to ignore you again.

Of course.   I was just wondering why you always liked them as a couple, that's all.   ;)
Why not?! They enjoyed being a couple, why can't I like them. Their life is their business, they deserve being happy even if Oooops doesn't think that can do anything right to be happy. :)

I have seen a lot of couples that looked really happy in public and had more serious problems  that mentioned by you above in their personal lives but were too scared of people's opinion to break their relationships and wasted each other's time and lives.

Who are we to judge?

Vasilisa, problem is that it is not a joke, but a sad Russian reality when the playboy's stars who are not familiar even with the elementary Russian grammar rules become the members of the State Duma. If you are one of these voters who elect such stars, you simply create and support this nasty reality. You can live in your box full of the regime propaganda, shop in Ashan for expired products to save the kopeks buying Chinese products marked as Russian and support current regime and feel happy. It is your choice to close your eyes.

Yes, Vasilisa, I'm not afraid of the "strong" Russian words I don't use in my daily life, those words by the way have their century history before they were turned into "vulgarism." Don't be surprised but the history of these words was in our study at the university as well beginning with the Old Russian Literature   ;)

Time to time it would be useful for some self proclaimed Turgenev's devushkas (especially in more modern shifted interpretation of this phrase) to hear a "strong" word in their address in order to come from their pinky heavens to the reality  ;)

For the especially "gifted" people, Vasilisa, my "nasty" posts are not about Russia, but about nasty vertical pyramidal political and economic system in Russia.  ;)

I would rather see someone in politics that is less educated but is truly trying to represent the people as someone who is trying to keep 'normal' people out of decisions.

Pretty accurate snapshot of what some folks at West know about russian life  :)
I would add the long lines to buy toilet paper of sandpaper quality and  all-round KGB guys who'll send you in GULAG at first occasion.

Ah, terrible consequences of the regime for the people (or how Olga see russians  ):

They are both equally bad.

Belvis, I worked with children from the troubled families, from the such families as you posted pictures. Sad reality, but theses people are part of the society as well, relaying mostly on the Putin's promises in social security.  And you are very mistaken if you think that is how I see the whole Russian population.  ;)

The people in my life are educated and intelligent people, and that is how I see them  ;)

Is it  Olga's first wedding?! No wonder she loves that guy in the profile picture so much now.

Well, now after KGB and Gulag I am 100% sure it's a male under OlgaH name.

I don't understand, Vasilisa, why you are so offended by Olga's posts about Russia.  She is just as much a Russian as are you, but with a different vision of what Russia should be.   Why are you offended when she discusses what obviously exists and is a problem?   Isn't wanting to change a country for the better the mark of a patriot?

After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

Why?! Because she lies. For example she mentioned that everything in Russia stays the same and the problems are not solved.
I disagree. It's 2013, I am in Russia and I see OlgaH as a problem, so she is in the ignore box, the problem is solved!

Waste of time, I'd suggest opening OlgaH's thread or better a separate forum which she could call:"100% truth about modern Russia told by an American housewife", so those who are interested can read the real truth there.

Lies about what? Would you be more specific what exactly in my posts is not true?  ;)

Yeah, I'm a problem... when the Russians are ordered to purchase the State Lotto tickets that are actually is the State scam. I was ordered  to buy such tickets too and vote for the United Russia and Putin when I worked at the State cultural institution on a managing position. I see nothing changed since that time  ;)

I've often read this definition of a patriot.  From reading the forums, however, I'm not sure it's a common one for Russians.  It seems this one might be a bit more common, at least specific to the internet:

A Russian patriot must relentlessly condemn in the harshest terms anyone who dares to criticize Russia or anything Russian, either expressly or by implication, or makes any unfavorable comparison between Russia and any other country, or between Russian people, history, music, culture, literature, goods, land, customs, social mores, and those of any other country, and must attempt to shut down this criticism or unfavorable comparison by any means necessary.

Believe it or not I haven't met many Russian patriots,  most of the real patriots I've met so far are the Russians who have been in the Russian Army.
As for me  I realize any country has its own bad and good features and I can discuss life in Russia with educated people.

They enjoyed being a couple, why can't I like them.

If couple enjoys being a couple one of of the spouses doesn't write a book where she/he paints another spouse in black colors while "happily" living together.    But it's only my opinion about happy couples, you are entitled to yours, of course.   ;)

I don't think that "patriot" applies to most of heated Internet discussions - it's more about "losers" and "winners", IMO.   ;)   Especially, with people who went to the West, didn't make it there and returned to FSU - they will defend their somewhat forced choice to the last breath.
