Eburg UK consulate not issuing visas

I read that they are no longer issuing visas, and along with Moscow doing the same, means that St Petersburg is the only UK consulate issuing visas.

Bit of a trek for the Vladivostok girls!

I wonder if this is allied to some sort of trusted courier visa scheme I heard about, given that rejection rates are so low maybe the consulates have offloaded this duty to the agencies?

Also with the tightening of embarkation and disembarkation controls in the UK I wonder if the UK Gov feels they can handle the mistakes the couriers might make?

They were closed for the holiday... and are now busy clearing the backlog from what I heard... My Fiancee is applying for a visitors visa for late may... they said do not apply until the end of next week...

The courier service was told the rules were changing in the beginning of May... Whatever that means...???

The consulate no longer accepts personal callers for visa applications, you have to use one of their accredited travel agents. For Vladivostok girls, they can use one of the three Moscow Embassy accredited agencies in Vladivostok.
