Have a few thoughts for the many Russian women who are also scammed

For many guys the mention of Russian dating brings to mind the scammer element of the industry.
But  what about the women? Russian women are scammed out of money every day just like the guys. A common scam is for a Nigerian guy to make a fake profile using some images of a US soldier (Same setup as in many mainstream sites) to befriend the women then ask the women if she can send him some money as he has some bullshit story.
Can you believe many women fall for it and send money to these scammers! Often the sums can be over $1000. Its a big problem and is a big topic in many Russian women forums. Most of the Russian brides sites operating today have Nigerian scammers tucked away some where waiting for the chance.
They usually question the ladies very well to gain information on their financial status.

So its not just the guys being scammed.

Maybe one woman scammed for every thousand guys.

And maybe woman scammed for $50 compared to $5,000 for a guy.

So there is nothing 'just like' going on.

Actually ML, this happens to alot of Western women who are favorite targets of Nigerian/Ghanan scammers who pose as Western men working abroad. I have read on other forums of women being tricked into sending these scammer amounts in the thousands of dollars!!!!

And, I doubt even 'a lot' of western women are scammed.

Consider the main cause of men being scammed . . . thinking with the little head.

Not doubting at all there are some women scammed; but the number is very, very tiny compared to the number of men scammed world wide of all nationalities.

A number of examples can certainly be offered showing a woman scammed; but the frequency is still miniscule.

It does a great disservice to the serious problem of men being scammed, to claim that women are likewise scammed.

Similar to downplaying the problem of rape by saying men are raped also.

Women are more used by sex tourists than that they are scammed.
I know some first-hand stories of men who used dating sites to find women they did not have to pay for accompanying them during their business trips.
The number of women scammed is less.

And, I would bet that only a tiny fraction of the women scammed world wide were FSUW.

Reason has to do with who has money available to take in a scam.

Yes, you can talk all you like about how there are women in FSU with money, and there are; but they are a tiny fraction of the women in FSU.

And so are the women who look to foreigners as a spouse.
Now if the tiny fraction of women who look to foreigners as a spouse combined with the tiny fraction of the women with money are good for $56 million, that means Russia might not be in such a bad shape as some think.

ML, I posted because you doubted 'a lot' of western women are scammed. From that article (I have no idea how accurate it is) seems women targeted by scammers more than men. Some scammed for quiet hefty amounts of money too.

Scamming is now a criminal activity in all the planet.
I put recently an ad to selling something second hand and saw the difference from two years ago.
As the price of what i am selling is one grand, i got between 15 and 20 SMS each time i refresh it, total scam.

Most scammers are pretty stupid though, they always use the same passwords, aliases and stupid story in their profile page. The stories they use are even more stupid that only a dumb ass would fall for it!
But I guess the world if full of dumb asses!

Usually that is their excuse. Their victims 'deserve' it due to pure stupidity.

The funny thing is lots of these dumb asses are pretty clever guys, often running their own successful businesses or having a pretty good job, but when it comes to having the chance to meet some blonde 20 something 30 years their junior, the thing between their legs goes into overdrive
Hell some of these guys are working for financial institutions!!! Probably the reason why the US economy is F**** up

It is not uncommon world wide for men and women to be very   successful in one area of life, and yet be totally clueless in other areas of life.

These people can get so immersed in something (a career, research, performing arts, etc.) that they have severely underdeveloped social skills, particularly with the opposite sex.

I was married for many, many years and had some apprehensions about how I would interact in the dating scene.  But what I hadn't counted on was that my constant interaction with women of all ages in my work situation allowed me to be instantly comfortable with women in the dating scene.

Some men and women are so isolated that they do not have this interaction that I had; and thus can be very naive and vulnerable when entering the dating market.
