Number of Fiance Visa iss ued by year...
« on: April 16, 2006, 02:30:09 PM »
IncludesBOTH men and women...no split information, but I'm assuming most were women...

Year        Number

1990        6,545

1995        7,793

2000       20,558

2004       28,546

I thought this was pretty cool information as you can really see the impact of the internet on the number of fiance visas issued.  Also, this will help other people when they are evaluating potentially inflated claims made by an agency.

Please post the link to where you found this info. Is this a world wide figure? If it is Russia, then  it is WAY off. There was less then 3000 Fiancee visa issued out of Moscow in 2004. They only average just over 200 a month :)

I don't know the value of the link but take a look at http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/stats.php , and scroll down to the section with the title : "Statistics by Country, Visa Type (for the last 360 days)"

Russia : 47 K1 / 3 K3 ( on 935 K1 and 116 K3 )
Ukraine : 31 K1 / 1 K3 ( on  935 K1 and 116 K3 )

Seem to be very low number... but country like Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Australia, China, Germany, India and Mexico make big number... of course it is based on people who fill the profil/timeline on the visa-journey forum but i think it give a good idea : Russia is 5% of total K1 and Ukraine is 3.3% of total K1

While I'm not the OP, those figures were actually posted in the US Today newspaper.  They represent the number of K-1s issued globally.

Those are the K-1 visas issued from the "2004 Yearbook of Immigration Statistics". You can find the actual data in table 24 on page 102. http://uscis.gov/graphics/shared/statistics/yearbook/Yearbook2004.pdf

You are correct that those are the world figures.

Yes...these are indeed worldwide figures.  They appeared on the little color graphic on the front page of USA today last Friday.

Source was the Dept of Homeland Security
