Please don't take this the wrong way but I don't want to be you. I don't mean that as a put-down and in fact I hope that someday you can enjoy the same things I do.

I wake up to an accented lady who is without doubt the most beautiful Russian woman ever born and that is not a put-down of the others, but it is a joy to see her thru my own eyes and recognize her beauty, outward and inside as well. We have three grown daughters who like us, tease me and find excuses to hang around us. They call out of the blue to say things like "I love you, Dad" and that floats my boat.

Two of them, and a son-in-law, have followed my footsteps in the media and they seem to believe that I was a strong positive influence in their choices.

Mrs. Mendeleyeva likes to hold hands and we snuggle on the Metro. It makes other riders smile and I like to think that we make new friends and by our actions impart a confidence in the values of closeness and admiration for the soul mates in their own lives. This summer she is working in Moscow but every other weekend takes the train down to Volgograd to check on Mother, several elderly Aunts and our cousins at the dacha on the Volga River. I don't get to go as often because of work but look forward to those years when I can go and stay as long as we'd like.

I miss her when we're apart and we still do silly things like leave notes in luggage. We laugh together and share desserts. I can order meals in a cafe when she is on the phone, and get the order right. She knows what I'm thinking an hour before I think it, or so she tells me. We have a high degree of respect for each other.

Oh sure, I'm like a typical RM and have several Russian girlfriends on the side, real "hotties" if you must know. The drop gorgeous blonde is Nastya (do you know what that name is short for?) who will be 6 this autumn. She has declared several times in the past that she will marry me someday so Mrs. M had better keep on her toes. To make matters worse, she is a relative!

If Nastya doesn't pan out there is always 4 year old Alyona who knows how to serve the most fabulous imaginary tea parties any guy could imagine. She likes to alternate kisses on my cheek with pulling hairs from my sideburns so ours is a true pleasure and pain kind of affair. She is related too so guess you'd think this was West Virginia if you didn't know it was Russia.

There are some real advantages in not being you. Don't hate me for that.

If you own several internet companies you probably know that not everything that is in the profile on social network is necessarily true.

Unless you saw her passport - she may have been 18, or may have been 19, or 20, or 17. If  she were 17, and her parents reported you to police, you could have encountered problems. If you go to Ukraine again, and meet young girls, do make sure you really know their age, not just read their VK profiles.

Some of the posters wrote that in Ukraine the age of consent is 16yo, I corrected them stating that it isn't the case. Not because I try to imply you had sex with a minor, but because this forum is read by many people, some of them never post, but have their own motives for traveling to Ukraine. Just as some AM get excited at the idea that every gorgeous Slavic woman will be happy to be their slave, there may be others AM who may get excited at the idea that in Ukraine it is legal to engage in "consensual" sex with a 16yo. In order to prevent their excitement and consequent trips to Ukraine and molestation of Ukrainian children - I have provided excerpts from Ukrainian laws/codes, which say that age of consent in Ukraine is 18. So as you see - the discussion was not as much about you, but in general.

As for your case - you "dated" a girl for 3 years and was planning to marry her eventually (according to you) and you have no idea what she was doing, at what point in life she was, when you met her. Unbelievable. Not only you didn't know, but you also apparently never cared to ask and find out. My guess is that while cbstogner may have many friends, few are serious, and most just want to party.  The seriousness of RWD posters is a different experience.
