Maybe this is a dumb question? But why do so many stupid men travel to Ukraine to meet women who do not speak a word of English? What is the point of this absurdity ?
Firstly your wasting time and money and leaving yourself completely open to abuse by ALL the translation firms and translators in Ukraine, they are all crooks!
Secondly 95% of the women in Ukraine will take as much advantage of you as possible, will use every possible means to extract more hard earned cash from your wallet.
Ok maybe you will be one of the VERY lucky ones and find a genuine women, but then do you really need all the trouble of trying to communicate with her via translators and even if you do, how can you have a normal relationship with a women who speaks not a word of English?
How can you communicate on a proper level? And what will you do at night in bed? have a translator under the bed?
It must be some form of desperation?
Russia and Ukraine are full of women who speak perfectly good English so why do guys opt for the stupid option of trying to date a women who can just about say hello?

Apparently I've been fortunate to meet the 5% that make up the good and decent people.

Steve, you hate Ukraine so I'm going to guess that you got burned and left for Russia. Or is it because your agency only works with Russians and you're afraid to lose business to the good agencies, like Kherson Girls or others? Kevin is the most honest and decent agency owner in all of the FSU--bar none. In a few decades when you've achieved his level of professionalism, let me know.

I do believe that too many men travel to Ukraine without giving Russia, with its much larger dating pool, a second thought simply because they're afraid of applying for a visa. Overblown stories about the visa and registration process scares men who really would enjoy the single largest country on the planet.

For some reason you enjoy labeling everyone from Ukraine as bad. That assumption is wrong.

Now as to your question, personally were I single, and happily that is not an issue, but I wouldn't date a lady who didn't speak Russian. At the same time I'm not going to throw stones at a guy who meets a non-English speaking lady provided that he learn some Russian while she learns English. That slows down the rush to get married mentality and allows them to get to know each other while they're learning.

I've yet to meet a truly fluent English speaker in the FSU who hadn't previously lived in an English speaking country, and I argue that such is impossible because language is only understood correctly as it is lived. If you haven't lived it, you can learn thousands of words and phrases and grammar but you're not fluent in understanding a language until you have lived it. That applies to any language.

So there really isn't this phantom lady who already understands English. All you have is someone who can communicated to a limited degree at first but has a head start on learning when she arrives.

Im not saying everyone in Ukraine is a crook when it comes to the dating industry but its not far off the truth. You are a long way from the truth about me being burned in Ukraine, have never ever been burned in Ukraine! Actually far from the truth in my whole time in Eastern Europe never lost a dime to anyone, and I have had plenty of meetings in Kiev with many girls and had some great fun, done all the bars clubs and restuarants. But in general most of the women who are involved with the foreign dating side of things are on the take that is 100% FACT! I have several friends from the UK very active members on the other big forum both divorced from Ukrainian women but going back for more for some crazy reason:) one is there this very moment. And yes becouse of the Visa issue in Russia.
Several years ago my first web site was hacked and files stolen by a guy from Lugansk ( even had the internet police involved in this one) lol, this guy works/worked  for some of the big sites in the industry which I will not also go into now but I found out a huge amount of information will probably surprise many here. Im pretty friendly with this guy now we meet up sometimes. He's been in the industry nearly 30 years including the marriage agencies side of things. I have a pretty good idea of exactly what goes on in the Ukrainian marriage agency side of things especially to the majority of poor guys who make a trip to Lugansk which Im sure must be the worst city for any guy to visit in search of a Ukrainian wife. I also know several girls who work full time for Ukrainian marriage agencies writing fake mails. Again Im not saying they are all crooks, there maybe a few good guys but very very few.
As for the language barrier Im just saying why make a rod for your back when there are plenty of pretty women out there who speak English.
My site doesn't just cater for Russians we have nearly 200 Ukrainian women join each and every week, and I can assure you I know a scammer better than any Ukrainian scammers on my site are very few and far between!

So Ukraine a bad country? No!  Just more trouble than its worth. I was in Yalta last summer with my wife and kids all was ok but still had put up with the usual ukrainian mentality:)

"Several" and "both" are hardly synonymous.

Please explain this "visa issue" in Russia.  Granted, getting a business visa may take a bit of time and effort, but a tourist visa is a piece of cake.

Clompletely clueless ! I have been about a long time met more scammers than you will ever meet in a lifetime! You think I have scammers on my site! they don't even make it past the first hurdle, and I have NO bad feedback.

Clompletely clueless !

Thank you. Considering some of the things I have been called in the past I consider this to be a promotion. (Btw, there’s only one L in completely and there is no space before an exclamation mark).

I have been about a long time met more scammers than you will ever meet in a lifetime!

I wouldn’t bet on that. (Btw, there should have been a comma after ‘time').

You think I have scammers on my site!

Are you asking me or telling me? I assume your asking and I have no idea. I never mentioned the word scammer, you did. (Btw, if you were asking, there should have been a question mark at the end of your sentence).

they don't even make it past the first hurdle, and I have NO bad feedback.

Please feel free to tell us about this first hurdle you speak of. Also, for a number of reasons, no negative feedback doesn’t mean a great deal in this industry. (Btw, your sentence should have started with a capital letter).

Get back to school

Ok. Do you recommend the school that you went to? ;D

And Im not here to make a dime from any members of this forum.

Never said you was …

I wonder here how Stepan's mom had extracted cash from his dad's wallet. Stepashka, please, tell us more. You made me very curious.

As for the importance of speaking the same language with your partner - I agree fully, for all meanings of the word "language" and "speaking." After all, according to Hamanns and Heidegger, "reason/mind is language."

I only made reference to your poor English because you told me I need to get back to school as I assumed you thought I was illiterate. As I have probably spent more time in Ukraine than you, dated more ladies there, met more females etc, I can’t think of any other reason as to why you would make such a quip. Btw, it’s ‘too’ busy.  8)

No worries, happy to do so. I presume all your six thousand Ukrainian ladies all speak English as no doubt this would be part of your ‘first hurdle’?

Im sure many do not speak English and I still wish them the best, actually I look after the women members very well if you check out some Russian/Ukrainian women forums Im talking about guys giving any women a hard time, they are also removed from the site.
Im just trying to point out considering there are thousands of women who speak English very well, what is the point of making trouble for yourself trying to date a women with no English ability.
It was an addiction a long time back meeting as many as possible, and I met some very beautiful young women who could not say a word in English who probably had great personalities but still! Who needs all the trouble in Ukraine with translators bearing in mind your chances are so slim there:)

Make life easy for yourself :)

Ah, "ye ole conspiracy theorist". There is no pecking order of vets at RWD. Just an assembly of minds with different ideas, ways and means of doing things. If you just come to teach, you've probably came to the wrong place. The idea that any one person knows all there is to know is very flawed. I've noticed most of your posts seem to take that position with you being the centerpiece. Lighten up and accept that someone besides you also, may know of what they speak, ya'know?  :D

Steveboy-

For the most part, I fully agree with your message.

Having said that, FWIW, the problem I had with your post is this...

...Secondly 95% of the women in Ukraine will take as much advantage of you as possible, will use every possible means to extract more hard earned cash from your wallet.....

That, by itself, lent your message null and void. You've successfully made yourself appear like an average used car salesman.

1. Do you really know 95% of Ukraine's total female population to make such a broad and bold statement like that? Do you honestly believe, let alone have proof, that 95% of Ukrainian female will take advantage of the average WM? Does that 95% also apply to the Ukrainian females you have in your database - or are you going to perpetuate this silliness by telling us you were able to weed them ALL out and guarantee they are within the 5%?

2. For the sake of sanity, refrain from using percentages when illustrating a 'set number' people in your anecdotes. I had fun one time talking with someone here when the person stated something like - "...78% of my friends...". It borders on stupid if not downright BS. What if the guy only had a total 40 friends? I'd sure hate to see that .2 person in his company, no?

You'd like to promote your knowledge about certain things - great! Just keep it 'real'. Otherwise you begin to sound a lot like Fat Yuri.

Im not disputing what you say here, however Im sticking to the point that the majority of Ukrainian women who sign up for any sites are out for something, Im not saying the whole population of Ukraine. As for my Ukrainian members I do vet them more than any chat site on the net and delete many members on a daily basis. For the remaining women well thats up to the guys I make no promises other than the women are genuine, what is on their agenda I cannot say as Im sure any site operator would say. I cannot promise you a Ukrainian women you meet on my site will not expect you to take her shopping becouse its a sad fact most do:)
And the point is why make a rod for your back.

Stick to an English speaking women and take some trips to Russia.

Maybe there should be a special section in the forum advising new guys to stay well clear off Ukraine/Ukrainian translation firms/Ukrainian marriage agencies and only to visit the place as a very very last resort.
Seems plenty of guys are happy to recommend to guys a few good Ukrainian sources, but even then they are making a whole load of trouble for themselves.

Surely the best possible advise to any new guys would be this:

1. Dont go to Ukraine.

2. Communicate only with a women who speaks reasonable English.

3. Do some research on Russia and stick to Russia. ( No I don't work for the Russian tourist board)

4. Dont wast time on women half your age. ( Ok I did this and it worked out for me)

No one in this forum is doing any new guys a favour even mentioning Ukraine?  :-X
