Has anyone had the experience of meeting a Russian/Ukrainian women who offered a fair amount of cash for a marriage? I have on three occasions. Just wondering about this

I met several one a very high class hooker in Moscow I was been speaking to her for a long time on some site great personality and a real nice girl. She told me exactly why she wanted to do this and offered 15,000 Euros. Problem was at the time I was living in the UK a rural part of the UK , I don't think she would of looked in place in my village of 1000 people with silicon breasts and a $10,000 mink coat:) even though it would of just been a short period the villagers already thought I was crazy with my escapades to Russia.
Another time I met a girl from Sochi from a very wealthy family she invited me to Paris She was staying at one of the best hotels in the city with the crew of fashiontv.ru had a great career just wanted to be free to travel Europe without all the visa complications. She even had the lawyer ready to make the agreement up. Decided to knock that one on the head I didn't fancy being her lapdog! The tradition is called "Ransom for the bride" and a fair percentage still participate. Relatives "kidnap" the bride on the day of the wedding and the groom pays a ransom which is eventually given to the bride to help her start a household.

I believe this gal did pay him - half up front - and half when she got the Green Card.

It happened to me once with a Ukrainian woman and once with a woman from another country.

Each time I was taken aback by surprise.

In the case of the Ukrainian woman, we had just gone on one dinner date. A little while after we chatted on Skype and then came the surprise 'offer'.

I remember what happened quite well.
She wrote me and asked me to take my time to consider her offer before making a decision.

I wrote her back a couple of weeks later and asked her some questions. She answered them and I replied that I could not do it, giving her the reasons. At the top of the list was that it was illegal.

She fired back an e-mail fuming at me, asking why I had wasted her time for the last month. (She was thinking I would bite).

I reminded her about what she said in her request (that I take my time). 

I haven't heard from her since. This was a few years ago.
She is well-educated and works as a school area superintendent.

Interesting.  It was too personal for her to "marry" you and have sex with you, but she was fine for having sex with lots of other guys in order to get money to pay you to "marry" her.   The effect of doing the latter meant she was having sex with lots and lots of different guys.

But in answer to the original question, I know a FSUW who had been looking to find an AM for more than eight years.  She had been repeatedly disappointed in the guys she met online.  I think if she lived here she could have her pick of husbands.  She's extremely attractive, sexy, smart, speaks fluent English, and has tremendous charisma.  She asked me if I knew someone who would be willing to marry her for a lump sum payment.  She knew at the time that I didn't have a girlfriend, so presumably she was asking me in an indirect way.
