in the defense of the cops, its not thier fault.  The mayor forced them to not report various crimes and its a big scandel here.

I almost did not tell you that I made a slight mistake, the interview is June 7th at 7:45 am for my stepson and at 8 am for my wife. Maybe they will be in different rooms? Leave it to USCIS to schedule 2 different interview times for one family.

One thing I should not mention, since I am no longer posting. Why is all the paperwork needed again? And they need new medical exams.

USCIS the people who keep you coming back time and time again.

They need to justify their jobs, Clyde. If they don't make work for themselves then they don't have work for themselves. Why do those people begin work so early in the morning?

They need NEW medical exams? How long ago were the last exams?  Was the last exam from the Civil Surgeon? or from her interview with  the embassy before she came here?

For us the Civil Surgeon was a perfect example of USCIS in  action. The idiot didn't fill out the form right and we got the whole  package sent back to us from USCIS and had to get him to fill out  another one. Didn't cost us any extra (think I would have had to go  postal on him if he tried to charge us for his ineptitude) but did cost  us a couple extra months of delay in getting Elena's GC.

Of course, now they are screwing around with Sergei's paperwork.  I guess I didn't realize how dangerous to the country a 5 year old is.  We know he can be a terror but they continue to amaze me at the new  depths of incompetence that they can display.

P. S. Thanks for not posting anymore. Sure am glad that SoC guy is gone... ;)

Yes the letter asked for medical exams. The last ones were done about 10 months ago in Kiev. Her friend who is living in Brooklyn needed the new exams also.

Okay, so they haven't had the Civil Surgeon exam yet. Gotcha. We had to  submit ours with the I-485 as we had the interviewless GC for Elena. I  just love the consistancy of these "people" (and I use that word  lightly as most of the time I am not sure they qualify for that  distinction).

Good luck and be ready for another $500 spent for the exams. They are  not covered by health insurance. Or I should say that they were not  covered in our case. That may have to do with the CS or not. They  didn't ask what type of insurance we had just said "No." when I asked  if it was covered.

I sure hope I can get this done in 46 days. You know how slow the government is.

The medical exams will have to be set up ASAP.

More $$$'s  and time off from school and work.

What Interview is this for? My wife has her greencard interview this coming week and there is no "new" medical exam she has to do.  She came over on a Fiancee Visa

SoC,
I went for my hopefully, last interview in January. By this time, I have a spwcial bag with copies of all submitted papers. It weights around 5-6 pounds already.
As an example: in Jan I submitted probably 8-th copy of my marriage certificate, taxes and some other documents. I didn't get my GC (after more than 7 years being married), bevause "there is not enough evidence that my marriage is not a fraud".
I asked what can be a prove of that. Here is a logic:
Marriage is not a fraud if people live together, share the household, and have sex.
I said ok, so, you want the prove of all 3?
I finished by gathering another 4 pounds of additional documents, which I brought to the lawer I just hired. He said that he talk to the officer about my case, and the officer told to bring again marriage certificate and taxes. I was shoked, I just in january brought him all this!
Do, be prepared for bringing the same documents again and again. They need to justify thir salary. :D

I think we may be ok since the medical exam was less than a year from the date I filed the AOS. I have the results from the exam and the immunization records which she received in Kiev last June. Maybe I can take her xrays to the interview.

They require more passport photos another affidavit of support a letter from your employer and bank and the usual birth certificates and her divorce decree. Just keep recycling the old forms and go to Kinko or someplace that can give you multiple copies that are easy to read.

Lil's Moscow medical was fine BUT she needed the vaccination sheet, and our local CS would not give the vaccination sheet without giving the physical exam (how friggin' convienient :seething:). As far as the I-864, you just need to update it to be current and bring any tax returns SINCE the last returns they already have. In our case they did like the fact that we brought wedding photos :noidea:.

Clyde, also be advised that the son will NOT be approved before his mother, and you will need 2 duplicates of everything IE: 2 letters from your Employer, two statements from the bank, two copies of your tax returns, etc... (we just went through this w/ Niko).

Rose, sorry to hear about your troubles recieving a GC, but actually a little relieved that we are not the only ones going year after year and hearing excuse after excuse. We'll be filing for Lil's 3rd work permission soon and forth Advance Parole in Nov. Nothing irritates me more than the fact that I have to pay them "bonus" money yearly for their complete incompetence. (Well, the fact that the IRS, another branch of Department Of Justice, considers her a "Legal Permanent Resident" for tax purposes, is more than a little bit irritating too! :yech:).

Rose, if you wish to post pictures of ALL your proof, I'm sure we would all be glad to vouch that you have a real marriage.  :P  *wink*

I guess it's all a matter of where you live, as we have really had nothing but decent experiences with INS/USCIS/etc. (Now, State and the Moscow embassy is a different story...).

They schedule two appointment times, as one adjuster can not have two people scheduled for the same time on the computer.  So they are scheduled back-to-back, and are basically done at the same time.  Our (Conditional) AOS interview(s) went very smoothly in the St. Albans, VT sub-district office.  But then, spending 10 minutes with my wife and me, with our son present, is typically enough evidence one needs to see we have a real family unit...

All of our other dealings (since they have arrived in the US) have been textbook examples of both procedure and timeline.  Also, we were never asked for additional work by the Civil Surgeon or for immunization documentation.

Connor,

As far as USCIS goes... I hate you! ;)

Seriously, I am happy that there is at least one person here that  they have not gone very far out of their way to screw over. This is the  biggest thing that pisses people off about them. In one place they do  it this way, in another place they do it that way, for one case they do  it this way, for the next case they do it that way. There is no rhyme,  reason, pattern, or sense to who/how/what/why they do anything.

I work at the Federal Reserve, SoC works for Social Security and  both of us see nepotism, powermongering, political decisions to  technical problems, and blatent stupitidy on a daily basis but compared  to USCIS these places run like a well oiled machine. It is really funny  (in a sad, sick, twisted sort of way) that these are the ones who are  deciding our futures for us.

The funniest thing in my case is that I'm here for more than 7 years, and still don't get GC. My son came a year ago, we processed his documents through Moscow, a week after his arrival he recieved GC. :D
So, in case if I'll be denied (we didn't provide ALL pictures to prove the marriage) and I'll be kicked out of the country(joke), I'll have to wait when my son will be 21(just 2 more years) and he'll bring me here as his parrent. I wonder, to prove that I'm a mother of my son do I need to sabmit a video of me giving him a birth...

I have been reading some of the anti Baltimore statements.

Since Baltimore is a major city like Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York or Boston, you have to expect crime. The murder rate in our nation's capitol is higher and George Bush resides there sometimes. Apparently "W"  is not worried, but he will be gone before long.

Let's move the New Yorkers to a safer place and the Bostonians while we are at it.

You can find good and bad in any city and there is good in Baltimore in spite of what some of you may think. Randy Newman gave us a bad rap too. He wrote his song remembering the endless red brick townhouses he had seen passing through on a train. Apparently he never left the train.

Oops I am making another non post. it is great to almost be back.

I shouldn't post this, I really don't want to be the cause of mass immigration to CC.  However, here's the latest propaganda from City Hall:
