Adams, on the other hand, was looking for a wife/mother who wasn't interested in his money or harboring "a fair amount of bitterness and anger" towards men (apparently, there are no misandrists overseas). First, he was scammed by someone he believed was a model (shucks). Then, he heard that Ukranian women were both beautiful and respectable: jackpot!! Eventually, he found Adamchiyk.

I'd like to keep ribbing on Adams, who was clearly searching for a compliant, deferential wife, not an equal — why else use a site where women don't have to pay? — and being so goddamn picky about it. ("He didn’t want women age 30 or younger because, in his experience, they’re interested in clubbing. He didn’t want a woman older than 36 because he believes most have already reared children and aren’t interested in mothering a young child.")

But the couple appears happy, and Adams doesn't seem like that bad of a dude. He felt online communication was more "genuine" than casual dating and is now fascinated by Ukraine’s culture and history; he's even learning Russian. It's not like his new wife is his maid. Even if the relationship isn't as lovey-dovey as the dating site that brought them together would like us to believe, dating is often an exercise in exploitation locally, too.

If he turns out to be a controlling dick, let's hope she's just in it for the visa. Ah, romance!"

I skimmed the video and listened to the goofy background music and really don't see anything odd about the whole thing...from what I saw isn't it kinda how a lot of couples on this site got together?  Man is enchanted by a woman he sees in a photo...woman likes man...he brings her over and they give it a go. 


I do think a lot of men say silly things about american women are this or that...personally i think american women are just fine overall...at a certain point most men 'age out' of the types of women they would prefer to attract here so they go where they think they can do better for themselves....I think that is great.

You are on to something there, LD. Some will speak up and comment but many will immediately pigeon hole you and her. I'd just joke that you saw her advertised in a store window while traveling on business and once you saw that she was 60% off that day only, you had her gift wrapped and shipped to your address. That usually shuts them up.

I believe this is the prevailing attitude, and probably more so if there is a large age or physical attractiveness discrepancy. 

Most people won't tell you that to your face, of course.

Seems to be primarily a gay male oriented website. No wonder they are so critical of the type of men on this forum who (HORRORS) cross the ocean, flying thousands of miles, to meet decent (OH NO!) women.

Regardless if it is a gay website or not, clearly there was a bias and one would have to assume that those reading it were mostly biased as well. 


There is clearly a % that doesn't particularly like that men are going overseas and finding beautiful younger women...that upset is not likely to change...I don't really care personally...Walking around with an attractive younger woman sometimes gets some looks but nothing that is worth even thinking much about, imo.

I am certain that walking hand-in-hand with my fiancee would garner far more negative reactions in the US than in Ukraine, where there seem to be many age differentiated couples strolling the avenues. My ex-wife (AW), to whom I was married 13 years, was 17 years younger than I...that attracted attention, because she looked 10 years younger than her actual age.

It started as a forum devoted to LGBT issues, but it became much broader than that.  It also has a very active celebrity gossip section.  If you read the responses linked, many were by posters with family/acquaintances, even ex husbands, married to "MOB's".
