Nikolaev Apartment

Does anyone have any leads on a three room (two bedroom) apartment in Nikolaev. A/C and a kitchen would be ideal.

If you visit a girlfriend in Nikolaev, ask her some information about real estate agency ... last year, i have hire a apartment three room with kitchen ( no A/C )... with phone, furniture, kitchen furniture, etc ... for 180$ month + 20$ for gaz/water/electricity/phone ...

Of course, the minimum periode of hiring is one month... but if you stay more that one week, it become cheaper that the place where price is by day...

  Sorry, i don't know the name of the area... but if you wish, i have just post a map from Nikolaev in the "download" section... i have use it last year, interesting with the bus/tram/trolley line... on the map, you can find a big black point with the text "here"... it was my stay place... a building with lift... and the street full of kiosk ( market )... was easy for shopping... not for from centrum ( 10 minutes by foot )... add 10 minutes more for the recreation park...

PS : If it don't work with your lady, go to the cinema "Podina" located Moscow avenue Nr9 ... at the same address, after 21h00, you will find a big discoteek with a lot of women... i have forget the address but on one of the side street of Moscow avenue, you can find a little cafe with several American pool... a lot of girls too and they are good ( at pool )... and not far from my appartment, it was a place who was a bowling the week and disco evening... not far from the old ship construction, you can find several little cafe/restaurant with live music... very romantic... and of course, you can find the "Stella Artois" everywhere, a good blond belgium beer 

After tomorrow, i will be not far from Nikolaev... in Odessa... for 3 weeks...

You can always check http://www.gotonikolaev.com/ for appartmennt but they are not cheap... If you take a look at the title banner ( picture )... you can see on the other side of water the big recreation park of nikolaev... the picture is taken from the place with several cafe/restaurant... almost in the center who is back from the photographer...

Good stay in Nikolaev... little city very friendly... but not a lot of people are able to speak english !!!

The Stella Artois is of course outstanding. I really enjoy the Yantar Svitle. It's amber in color, yet very light on the palate. I think this will be my warm weather brew.

Sorry for the map... i have reduce it last year but it is always a big picture... since the original site don't exist anymore, it is all i have...

Way used by foot : outtside appartment, take right... walk 100 meter... take left, walk 500 meter... take right, walk 50 meter... just after the church, turn left and walk around 200 meter... and you are at the place showing by webcam on the internet... the webcam is located at the begin of Sovetskaya... ( somewhere in these forum is posted the link to these webcam )... I only remember the way used for go to one place to other... and since i walk enough fast, i have almost visit all the city...

You have a lot of bus but you don't have time table... sometime, you have 10 bus in 5 minutes and other day, same time, you need wait one hour to the bus...

I don't remember the place but you can hire scooter for very low price... perfect for a visit of the beach outside city with your girlfriend... with a little pic-nic...

Your best guide will be your woman... but people are friendly... and militia give you information in exchange of "piva"... not the militia on the street but these who take care of security in market... they are not in service, they earn a little more money by a second night job...

Some interesting place : the theather who was renoved last year... a museum not far from the theather, only 200 meter down the street... forget the maritime museum, boring and bad shape but almost free...

Advice : if you use public toilet, use these where you need pay... these have cleaning personel and are somewhat clean...

EDIT : For beer, the baltika is not bad... and the vodka is great !!!

Of course, you were not far from Lenin Square and that beautiful little church they just built...the one with the gold roof. I walked by there on a Saturday and there must have been fifteen different wedding parties.

Re: vodka...I tried many when I was in Ukraine, and two stood out for me...Nemiroff Honey Pepper vodka, and Soyuz Victan SV Luxe. The Luxe is apparently filtered three times through a silver filtration process. A superbly smooth, well-crafted vodka.

So, will we be getting a trip report from you any time soon?

Whatever the case, I hope you have an outstanding trip and realize your dreams.

And I'm still looking for a 2 bedroom flat in Nikolaev with AC and kitchen. If anyone has any leads, it would be greatly appreciated.
