Hi All,

I would like to find some FSU ladies that have already migrated to Australia on a prospective Marriage Visa in recent times.

What I would like is to get as much Hints & Tips for my Girl in Moscow.
We are looking into all options at the moment so we can be together and feel this may be the best option.
The Visa process looks simple enough as we have a heap of documentation and support from our families to provide IMMI.
I would like for my girl to have some people that have been through the same process as well as advice on making such a huge transition in her life.
As I have explained to My girl I totally understand the HUGE decision that she has made

Also tips from a girls perspective as to what small things around the house that I can do once visa is granted so that she won't be too homesick even though I know she will for sure as would anyone.
We also plan after her visa is granted to bring her Mum over as well

My Girl & I have been together for almost 12 months now and so far it has been perfect
We first met in Thailand after speaking online & Skype etc for a few months
Straight after the Thailand trip we planned and booked tickets for me to go and stay with her in Moscow which was COLD in November lol

The next plan was for her to get a tourist Visa to come to Australia but as we were talking about it we have now decided that we both want to get married and start our life and family together so that's why we are skipping the Tourist Visa and going for the Prospective marriage visa instead.

My girl is a very independent woman and works very hard. She has a diploma in Marketing and is also is a qualified teacher so I don't feel she will have trouble getting a job once here with me.

So yeah Generally just  looking for all hints, tips & advice for both of us from a FSU woman point of view that has been down this long road that we are about to embark on.

Regards,

Daz

Trust me on this one, you have no clue regarding the magnitude of that decision and I highly doubt she does either.

NO YOU MET 12 MONTHS AGO. HOW MANY TIME HAVE YOU REALLY SPENT TOGETHER ?

BAD DECISION, YOU HAVE TO LET HER COME IN YOUR COUNTRY IF POSSIBLE ONE MONTH TO ASSESS YOUR REAL COMPATIBILITY ON A DAILY LIFE WHEN SHE IS AT HOME AND YOU AT WORK .

My girl is a very independent woman and works very hard. She has a diploma in Marketing and is also is a qualified teacher so I don't feel she will have trouble getting a job once here with me.

Good Morning Patagonie,

Thanks for your input on the situation Now to answer your questions.

Since we have been in contact (Together) we have spent in total almost 1 month together in person. 1/2 on holiday together in Thailand and the other 1/2 living together in her small apartment in Moscow, I think if 2 people can live even 1 week in a small apartment like hers together with out any stress or disagreements then you could live together forever.
Since we have been in contact (TOGETHER) we are constantly on either the phone, email or Skype daily so I HAVE been learning everything I can and she with me in regards to our families, countries & customs.
I speak to her mum as best I can through my girl every time she is at her mums house so I have a general idea of who her mum is (Yes very old school) and she has a general idea of me and the way I live.
The reason we are talking re her mum coming over to Aus if we decide that we are going to go through with the wedding visa etc. is due to the fact that My girl and her Mum are the only family members that are left in Russia, so we want to have the option open and do all research before we mention the idea to her so she understands that all our decisions have her mum included.
If her mum chooses to stay in Moscow then thats simple as My girl owns her apartment in Moscow and her mum has always wanted to live closer to the city so she will live rent and bills free IF SHE CHOOSES this way.

As for which VISA we should apply for thank you for your opinion however we have now chosen to get the Tourist visa first so she can as you say come and check my home and country out. She will be here with me for 3-4 weeks so I want to show her as much of Queensland as possible in this time by way of camper van which will be fun I am sure.
IF my girl likes Australia then we will take the next step

While she is here with me I work 1 2 week on and 1 week off roster so will more than likely have to work 1 of the weeks she is here. We will have no issues with this as she enjoys very much time to herself and this will give her a chance to explore my area at her own pace.

I am 36 and my girl 31 years old and I want YOU to UNDERSTAND that WE HAVE put A LOT of thought into this topic
We both talk about ALL scenarios that may arise as well as the HUGE choice that we are BOTH making.
We talk about everything and have done since we first started our communication  And I don't appreciate the word immature coming into the conversation as we are not Teenagers just looking for an easy way to be together.
We talk about our finances and every aspect of our relationship including our plans for the future

Thanks

Daz

No, tiring will take on new meaning, you will need to go far beyond anything you have imagined or discussed but remember, it isn't all one sided, she'll need to do her bit and then some also - a fact often lost in chivalry.

About the job Daz , if you work away it will make things hard for her possibly- I have seen one marriage end before because he worked away a lot .. Just be aware is all. I know we all need a good paying job , but change this if you can in the future .
The tourist visa first is a good move for both of you I think . But I also think it will not be until she has been a few times , until she is comfortable on her own . Ps the tourist visa should not take any more than 3 weeks (   going by my passed of 3 tourist visas ) Christmas will add to this thought . All the best .

Hi Supraman

Yeah mate we have talked in great detail about job prospects ect for when she comes.
And the plan will be to take either a Hotel management or Caravan tourist park position as a couple so that we still get the quality time together.
I have a lot of contacts in these industries so will have no problem finding something suitable for us. It will also give us a chance to save a lot of money to make sure her mum is ok back in Moscow as well as save to buy a home etc.

I am really liking these discussions as all aspects and hurdles come to light even with the issues we have not thought of as yet.

Cheers,

Daz

daz id second supraman advice

in all honesty mate , if your a FIFO worker , or you are going to be away from home for extended periods of time for work in the first 1-2 years of your lady arriving & marriage , id suggest you stop now and consider another form of employement

as I/O mentioned , this will be a hard thing on both of you, but imho it is essential you are available pretty much full time to your new partener to help and support her as she makes the transition into a new life here ,

dont underestimate this , you will need to carry a much bigger load than you are accustomed to and be patient , understanding , reliable and supportive , in all manner of things, even things you think are already understood and dealt with .

the hardest part /real work begins once she arrives,
if you work away , or work long hours , it has potential to be a disaster . good to see you have thought about it and are looking at changes

Sorry to have offended you.
There is nothing wrong to be passioned or enthousiastic in life. But it goes wrong when you start to get some engagement without a clear understanding of the outcome. And international dating is a big engagement.
You barely don't know this woman (two weeks in vacation and plenty hours of bla bla are not).
I would advice you to spend one month with her or more in Australia WITHOUT having holiday (they are tons of FSU women very serious to travel and have vacations it is true), DELAY any engagement for the moment, and AFTER you will have a better idea of your compatibility. The weigth of the "buyer's remorse" will be slighter also.

Hi Patagonie,

Thanks for the apology but I wasn't really offended.
We are taking our time with everything at the moment, I know it seems like we are rushing into this whole thing but we are not.
At this stage we are both researching all avenues and options that we have. I can't see us applying for a Prospective Marriage Visa until at least June July this year as we both want her to come here in April-May for 3 weeks and then we are looking at Thailand around August for another couple of weeks as we won a 1 week holiday to Koh Samui this year while we were there and want to use it up.
I would say after we have both saved for these 2 trips then we will save the money for our Prospective Marriage Visa. by the time we apply for the Prospective marriage visa we weill have spent anywhere up to 7-10 weeks together which I think is ample time to make sure we are compatible.
My girl is well traveled as before we met she would go on a couple of trips with her friends to different countries and cities each year and has amazing photos from these.
So what will do eventually is get a big world map to put on the wall so we can mark each country that we have been to.

Anyway I am on these forums to take in all advice no matter if it is negative or positive because it is the members on these sites that have the experience and I enjoy learning from this.

When I talk to my friends about these subjects they have no idea what I am talking about as they don't understand because they have never experienced the challenges that come from dating an FSU woman.

I started on the freepersonals website just because I was bored out at work one night and was very lucky to bump into a girl like mine, so many people get taken for a ride by the scammers and I feel for them

keep adding advice as I do take on board all advice given and appreciate it.

Cheers,

Daz

Daz , I like your attitude . You are listening to everything . But as you know it will be upto you to find what is right for you too . Also a few of us ( myself included ) have made mistakes before and we only ever offer "negative advice " in the hope of saving someone else from our mistakes -- but we sort of know this is not possible - you must do what feels right for you . The open mind is a good thing mate . :)

Supraman- Yeah I think it is best to hear everything and learn from others wins & losses, I'm not to experienced with forums etc but I at least I can say that I have made the trip to Russia which I thought I would never do lol. Glad I did I enjoyed the culture and what the place has to offer.
But the best was to be able to hang out and live like a couple with my girl just doing all the simple things that most couples take for granted (simple things in life are the best)

But yes its the guys and girls that have been doing this for a while now that I am soaking up as much knowledge I can get good or bad its all experiences and real stories, not the hype and BS that you see on TV and read in books.

Keep the tips and stories coming

Daz

Hi All,
I would like to find some FSU ladies that have already migrated to Australia on a prospective Marriage Visa in recent times.
Hello Daz.
Its very good if she'll come to you with tourist visa. And I am sure she'll like to be here very much because.... for her it will be holiday in the exotic country with special man. But be ready, when she'll come permanently it maybe different. In Australia is very different lifestyle than in Russia especially if woman was successful and independent in Russia (especially in Moscow). It is good thing you will can work together. It will keep her busy and not so bored. Anyway I wish you luck with your lady. Feel free ask any questions (I have sent you private message with my email).
I am in Brisbane 6 months with Prospective marriage visa.
Your destiny will find you...

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone knows the estimated time it will take to have a tourist visa approved for my girl to come to Australia?
We have booked and paid flights accommodation etc.
My girl will be arriving 4th May for 2 weeks if approved which I can't see any problems.
Her application was done 2nd April.
We are concerned that this may not be enough time.
Anya (my girl) has traveled all over Europe, USA.

Cheers,

Daz

Hi Daz ,, we never had to wait any more than 3 weeks. Normally it took only about 10 days . The current Crimea issue may , or may not  play a part in slow movement too-- who knows  ?   Hoping it all goes well for you .:)

Hi Supraman,

That is the biggest concern here I think

We bought the tickets way before this even started so fingers and toes crossed.

Otherwise all is going really well with Anya and I. We have been keeping all our records for the prospective marriage visa which we hope to apply in July August this year:)

Will keep you posted on the length of time the visa takes

Thanks

Hi Supraman,

Yeah mate I was so stressed about it.....
We are both really happy with how its all going.
I have organized the first 2 nights in a resort on the gold coast as Anya wants to see the fun parks and sights around there, as well as she will no doubt have jet lag from her trip.
Then from there I have a camper van hired so we can travel to visit my dad in Lismore and then take our time heading back up to the Whitsundays stopping at Sunshine coast for Australia Zoo, Fraser Island to visit mum and some other nice places along the way.
I really thought with the Russia/Ukraine crisis we would've had a lot more hurdles in getting a visa approved

Thanks for all who posted their  advice
I will post photos of our trip

Hi Baz,

How long was the Tourist Visa you applied for? We had 2 refused in August and October, Had to leave a kid behind to get approval in November!!

My Fiancé is in Cherkasy, we decided to meet neutral territory in March 2013 for 10 days, I then went Ukraine May/June and Vika and young daughter spent 2 months here in Australia under normal life conditions (not as if a holiday). Love is always great on holiday.

We put in our online Perspective Marriage Visa the weekend before Easter but a few required Stat Decs still to be uploaded, Hope to have them in this Monday or Tuesday. Moscow Embassy said when I called current process time is about 6 months.

Wondering how your visit went and if you still going the PMV way?

Hi Ampk

We only applied for the standard Tourist Visa which we were approved for a 3 month stay, It's a shame that due to both our work commitments she is only able to stay for 2 weeks.
We are also lucky that there are no kids involved in our process as I have heard that it can be alot harder to obtain Visa's.

My girl arrives 4th May and departs 18th May and we have a busy schedule as I want to show her as much as I can in the 2 weeks she is here.
Yes we are still planning to go the PMV way, we have been getting all our paperwork etc in order for the last couple of months, and we will see a celebrant while she is here.

Where abouts are you from in Aus? let me know how you go with your PMV as I am sure I will need some advice when we apply which we hope to do so in June this year.

Cheers,
Daz
