So now there are patterns?  Slippery slope there...

Well, I can see from my posts, they have been mainly joking around.  I can see many other posts that are more mocking in nature.  I surely hope that post count and participation has a filter for quality.  ;)

LoL... I have, uh, thousands of 'quality questionable' posts.  So obviously, there is no current filter for that category.

Hey, there will be a point where the over moderating will stop people from posting.  I know I slowed mine down since I am not interested in getting edited and wasting my time.

Hey LFU,  certain posters choose not to control the constant attempts at insults...or sly innuendo....if they are posting less, that is a good thing...YOU on the other hand, know how to have an argument without the vile insinuations.
to this point...Daveman is doing a very good job in my opinion.
I looked at  'TomT''s (who is he REALLY?) post and the point appears to be to pure garbage meant to annoy...and I'm probably not even a person that it was indirectly directed at...in addition, his post was modified so he may have said something more regarding moderation.

I just happened to be browsing about the internet....

Cant say I noticed  :cluebat:

The point  you seem to miss is that constant unwarranted attacks and denigrating remarks by the FEW-- are stopping people from becoming involved.

Unwarranted attacks?  I guess that depends on whom is attacking and whom is being attacked since I remember seeing quite a few attacks from guys complaining about unwarranted attacks.

Well, some guys think a disagreement is an unwarranted attack.  Name calling shouldn't be allowed.  I agree with that but this post from TomT was not an attack.  I have made comments to TomT about his sniping in the past but this was not one of them.

No, I can't say it is common sense any longer since you banned TomT for the post in this thread which was good advice. He even took out the name of whom originally posted it.  I say it is more about the moderators interpretations at this point.

You are commenting in ignorance of a sequence of events that you clearly were not following or have not read.
I am willing to be corrected--but  I think the post at head of the thread was altered at later time.

Gotta disagree FT.  I think what TomT said was good advice.  You don't want to bring up other people when courting a woman and trying to degrade others.  It will more than likely backfire in the end.

You gotta show you are different instead of talking.  If that isn't good advice I am doomed because I rather live that way when possible.  hah

Innuendo shouldn't be a concern.  As Dave said, there is an ignore feature for those that can't handle the implied or imaginative innuendo.  Yes, we sometimes dream up these things in our heads.

Jay, you don't even know if it was altered.  Now if you knew it was you could say I am commenting in ignorance but as of right now you have no clue.   I know he made the same comment in another thread and you were the person in the quotes.  I also think he thought it was of worthy discussion to make a thread of it's own and took off your name so we could discuss it.

I happen to think it was as well.

Fair enough... as I stated, this will not become a habit...

This post by Tom, as it stands, is out of context to our current discussion.  This began with another post of his being moderated and this thread was created, by Tom, in response to that moderator action.

If this post lacked the identical quote used in the original moderated post, and the last line referring to "affliction", this post would not have been touched.  However, when there is a moderator action, followed by a reposting to circumvent moderation - that will always receive stiffer mod action.

Yeah, I saw what happened.  I think you missed the mark on this one but I appreciate being able to have my say.

Yeah, quite a few punters seem to have very active imaginations.

And, FTR, I have it on good authority that Tom's post is as he intended without alteration.
