Apparently, KenC [the way it was posted] had just now found out that Jack Bragg was no longer in this life.
I knew that Jack was sick  but the extent of it he didn't say it to me.
Anyway we all go back some 14 years now.

Thanks for the nice welcome.  It is funny, but I still remember your wife washing your truck when she first arrived and now my wife, Ping enjoys washing my car.  We are closing in on 2 years married and we enjoy every day together.

HiTech,

Thank you for sharing the photos.  Beautiful family.  I can see she is feeding you plenty of food.   :D  Few of us married to a RW have kept the same belt size.

Your wife 's cake is magnificent.  It was a labor of respect and love.  Your dad was a submariner?

You and Ping seem very happy.   I can tell you are healthier now than 4-5 years ago when some undiagnosed condition was ailing you.  To health!

I see you have a Christmas tree.  Chinese make a huge celebration for their New Year albeit a different calendar.  What was Ping's reaction to her first Christmas holidays?

HiTech,
 Your dad was a submariner?

Yes , he surverd in the Pacific during WWII and is a plank owner of the USS Carbonero ss 337.

Alyona has a talent for cakes. She has started a selling via word of mouth.

Some samples, all parts are edible and made by hand.

I get a kick out of the one that looks like caviar.

Yes , he sErve.d in the Pacific during WWII and is a plank owner of the USS Carbonero SS 337.
Apparently, this boat - not ship ;) - saw only some 4 months of Pacific duty in WWII:

Quote
USS Carbonero (SS/AGSS-337) was a Balao-class submarine, the first ship of the United States Navy to be named for the carbonero, a salt-water fish found in the West Indies. Her keel was laid down on 16 December 1943 by the Electric Boat Company of Groton, Connecticut. She was launched on 19 October 1944 sponsored by Mrs. S.S. Murray, and commissioned on 7 February 1945 with Commander Charlton L. Murphy, Jr. in command.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Carbonero_(SS-337)

Most US WWII subs were name after fish. Apart from the fish, carbonero is an obviously Spanish word dealing with coal, as in coal merchant, coalman, collier, etc.

Gator,
I feel better and better most days.  The days I don't, Ping is there to mother me to death.  (no way is that a complaint!)
Ping endorses everything American.  Well, except chicken!  She doesn't like American chicken. LOL.  Our holidays have been great for her.  She has become very close to my son & his wife and my daughter.  It is a regular friggen love affair between them all.  (so cool)  My kids have embraced Ping like they never did my RW.
Chinese New Year is around Ping"s BD Feb 5th.  That is THE Chinese holiday.  We sent a nice gift to Ping"s grand daughter to arrive before the holiday.
I don't know if it is culture or maturity, but living with Ping is 180 degrees from my former wife.  Zero home sickness, accepting American ways, the least self centered person I have met and very self sufficient.  I love our no stress lifestyle too.  She is still a strong forceful woman, but in a very quiet way, if that makes any sense.
BTW, what up with you?

Ping is from Chongqing, China.  Chongqing is a huge industrial city in the szechuan territory.  Ping was a single mom that raised her son and worked in fabric sales.  She did a lot of traveling in China and to surrounding countries.  She maintained a good lifestyle and is very independent.

It would be terribly unfair for me to assume that all RW behaved like my former wife.  I don't know where to draw the line between culture, age difference and maturity levels.  That being said, I would say that there is no love of the Motherland with Chinese.  Maybe that is why Chinese seem to accept American ways more so than Russians.  Both cultures seem to have very strong women but in different ways.  RW tend to be a bit over powering at times where as CW are more quietly strong.  Both seem to get the same results but the CW don't beat you over the head with it. LOL  Again, is it culture, age or maturity?

Yes, as has been said here many times; the primary differences are just between women as individuals (regardless of country and culture) rather than being between women from different countries and cultures.

Ochka doesn't seem at all to be like many FSUW are described here . . . even when considering both good and bad traits.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Ken,

Thanks for the elaborations.  I recall the trip report you wrote about meeting Ping.  You had communicated with many Asian women IIRC, Ping impressed you more than the others as an especially fine woman with many good qualities, so you went to China to visit her (and just her).  Your intuition proved correct.

Gator....BTW, what up with you?

I believe you were around when the Moscow woman and I quickly and amicably divorced, and I started dating again the  ex-model, ex-athlete Cossack who made my heart sing years earlier but was not ready to marry me.

She came here several times and our love grew especially strong.  I asked her to marry me (unlike the previous one who asked me to marry her - that was a clue).  She said "yes."  We married here and did a spousal visa.

You made wonderful compliments about Ping, which make me think of my wife.

-  "My kids have embraced Ping like they never did my RW."  Ken, my two sons are the same, even saying "Why didn't you marry someone like her instead of..."

-  "I don't know if it is culture or maturity, but living with Ping is 180 degrees from my former wife.  Zero home sickness, accepting American ways, the least self centered person I have met and very self sufficient."  We are not yet there, but making progress in that direction.  At least I am no longer reminded that she did not want to move to America. :D

-  "I love our no stress lifestyle too."  I doubt if we will ever reach this nirvana.  Maybe it is her Cossack blood and my ways, but we have spirited disagreements when the following does not happen:

-  "She is still a strong forceful woman, but in a very quiet way, if that makes any sense."  Yes, it makes sense.  The good ones have patience, faith in you, and flexibility.  Also, they know how to remind you without triggering negative feelings, and they express their gratitude.  That works both ways, of course.

The most important point - I truly can say that I have never been loved so deeply in my life.  For sure I have never known a better woman.

Here we are this summer:

I forgot.  I had the big birthday last year.    It was impossible to count the candles as shown in this photo.   :D :D :D

I have now officially entered the decade of decline.  To start, an old sports injury has deteriorated to the point  that I go for a TKR as known in orthopaedic lingo.  The other knee is fine.

Nice to see you back, happily married and looking healthy!

This is an interesting observation - why do you think your kids accepted your CW and did not embrace your RW even though had a long marriage together?
