I hate to say this but, do you really believe the American army will fire on its own brothers and sisters?

I wouldn't say either way. If the military was put in that position, yes they would. Nation Guardsmen have done it before.  Internal forces, state police, local police, ATF, and Homeland security would in a NY minute
Quote
Let's go step further. Assume that it happens, what do you think will happen when a trained professional killer armed to the teeth face your weekend deer hunter?

Let me turn that around to you just a bit, what do you think will happen if the deer hunter isn't armed at all?
Quote
This must be the biggest lie told to the American public.
What lie exactly is that? The thing about arms, Muzh, is that they are great equalizers

Quote
BTW, I'm pricing rifles right now because my son wants me to join him in target shooting when he returns from active duty.
You should, if for no other reason for the experience of being able to use it to protect yourself and your family. Hopefully, you'll never need to but, what if you do? An armed society is a polite society despite what the anti-gun crowd wants you to believe.

Quote
Finally, I'm not anti gun nor ever felt that way. I strongly believe the Second ammendment should stay the way it is. You'd be surprised how many "liberals" feel the same way. I just wish it would be obeyed.

Muzh, even tho we disagree on many political points, I find you very logical and rational. I always have and I actually consider your positions in more detail because of that. The U.S. is the only nation with a second amendment. I know many liberals who embrace the 2nd. IMHO, if you love your country, protect it. Fear your government, no matter which side of the ilse you hail. It starts by guarding the right to and possess firearms. The founding fathers knew this. It was true in the 1770's and just as true today.

I'm well aware that's what you meant - so did I.

I feel sorry for you when I read this.  You live in what you purport to be "the greatest country on Earth" and you STILL spout this drivel!  Why are you so paranoid?  The chances of this happening are about the same as the President of Betelgeuse A having a share of a winning ticket in El Gordo!  Why can't you realise that people in most of the world don't go around shooting each other?

As for it happening here - get real!  Why do you think that New Zealand is one of the first countries that others turn to when peace-keeping forces are requested?  It's because the rest of the world believes in the ability of our military personnel to defuse situations, not inflame them.  That's why Bamiyan Province in Afghanistan has been able to be rebuilt to a stage where, although there's still a lot to do, it more closely resembles normality than many places in that beleaguered country.

Obviously there's always a remote chance that an individual soldier might go nuts and start shooting people (like in Texas) - but for the military forces as a whole?

You presumably have a productive life away from RWD, but I'm beginning to wonder if it's all done through the internet so that you don't have to leave what must be your bunkered fortress of a home.

You obviously do not wish or are not capable of a civil discussion on this topic so, blow it out of your ass. If you choose to be sheep, please, help yourself. Makes me not one bit of difference. Your 150 so UN peace keepers in Afghanistan are as relevant on this topic as shit to apple butter. What you believe Americans should do in America are just as relevant. There are 75 dead Ukrainians today that in all likelihood didn't believe their government would kill them. Any government is capable of it, even that little country, whatever it is that you live in.  :D

Let's be civil [no personal attacks]
Not every one is aware of every fact.
Police everywhere in the world shoot and kill their respective citizenry every day of the week.

It should be noted there is a clear and distinct difference in protesting citizens and criminals

She's free!  WOW!

From BBC News in the Breaking new section:

"Breaking News  Ukraine opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko has been freed from prison in the north-eastern city of Kharkiv."

and

"15:52: Yulia Tymoshenko waved to supporters from a car as she was driven out of the hospital in Kharkiv, a Reuters photographer at the scene said."

Things happening really fast now:

Parliament speaker resigns, replaced by Tymoshenko ally.

Parliament removes Yanuk from office and schedules elections for no later than May 25.

Presidential offices under opposition control.

Tymoshenko free.

Czar Putin worried about his future (OK, I made that one up). . .

On the bright side, this must provoke a lot of desperation in many Ukrainian women. Desperate MOBers would be advised to take [even more] advantage of this opportunity and get in there [to exploit] and grab themselves a young hottie before the situation improves too much. Who knows, you may get a few years out of her before she moves on to better options.

I had to look that term up as it as unfamiliar to me. According to wiki your use of the term is incorrect.

Not that I have anything to worry about anyway. :)

There are no desperate MOB'ers on this site.  Maybe you want to look around for a different lot to proselytize.

How many revolutions is that now? shall we take bets on how many years the new government will be in power before they also start dipping into the public funds, stealing the publics money and the usual things.
Its Ukraine! Nothing will change, corruption and theft is a way of life unfortunately.

If anybody doesn't agree, see you in another decade to talk about it:)

I guess you never saw the thugs in with the peaceful demonstration shooting the police officers? By the way there was a bus from Transnistria , where I am living at present on the way to St petersburg this week. Some thugs threw a petrol bombe on it , then asked the driver to get out of the bus at gunpoint:)

Yes don't worry I have respect :deadhorse:

It is the exact reason why so many stupid men get scammed by Ukrainian women. Thinking the majority of Ukrainian women are "desperate to leave the country", even if that includes marriage to some 200kg Hill billy from the USA with bad teeth and body odour!

Says a man living in Australia!! A long way from Ukraine and as usual watching the propaganda pushed on you all by the Western powers:)

I have much sympathy for the Ukrainian people. Unfortunately in my "simple mind" its just "another revolution"
Yes it would be great if from today onwards Ukraine could have a democratic government and build a good economy for the country. Unfortunately history says that is unlikely to happen, and soon enough the new government will join the ranks of all the other Ukrainian governments. Unfortunately that is a sad fact!

No one thought what happen 22 year ago would ever come.
things do change, is it easy, NO. Will it take a long time, most likely.
Will it never happen, I think it will.

It is rather funny that you choose that point to comment on--  first of all you have no idea where my information comes from. To illustrate that point-- I can see all of the information you see  --plus a lot more from many sources and that is not propoganda. As I also said previously you need to look at footage and show some respect-- many of us have watched events unfold in real time.

Unless you are actually living and travelling in Eastern Europe I do not think you see all the information I see at first hand?

Mmmm so what would of happened if the guys (thugs)who attacked the local bus here on the way to St Petersburg via had of killed some of the women and children on that bus?? I guess that would be in the name of peace, so no big deal?
The west sees what the Western media want them to see and read:) Im not defending the other side in anyway!
