To be pretty honest I really don't care how much Putin is fiddling I don't care who runs Ukraine and I don't really care who is stealing from who! Most of these forums on any of these issues are a total waste of breath even becoming involved in the arguments.
its just the same old boring stories. The whole world is a pretty f***** up place anyway! There are kids in Africa starving, the US is bent as hell , even torturing offshore. Half the Judges in the world are perverts , everyone is on the take at the top what ever government you support. What we really need is some higher person from outer space to come down and wipe out the human race and start again.

It is human nature, we are all animals and you can see how humans change very fast in a war, look at the Nazis!

What ever you do what ever you say nothing will ever change in the world.

My attitude is as long as I am ok I really don't give a shit about who's killing each other  around me or who is stealing from the people.

My fiancee reports from Luhansk that, in her encounters with her fellow locals (obviously does not constitute a statistically valid poll), it seems 95% of them espouse seceding from Ukraine to assimilate with, as she puts it, "Great Russia". She is one of the 5% loyal to her nation.

That would be the "stupid EU" that has seen the Polish GDP rise to three times Ukraine's since they joined the EU,when their GDP was  the same as Ukraine's before they joined the EU .

Far better to link with a nation that starved 2 million of them to death in the 1930's,and that treats them with contempt even now,and has recently threatened to cut-off Ukraine's gas supply.

Ask the people of Belarus how they enjoy their links with Russia,and whether they'd rather be part of the EU.

It is no great secret that there are many Russian Heritage members of UA.  My friends in Kharkiv were mortified that the country could be brought to its knees so quickly.  (I don't have friends in Krim or I would report how those people feel.)

People who believe that UA is going to have an easy time establishing Western style business practices are out of their element.  However, if such practices occur, they will begin in the agricultural sector where Ukraine has an abundance of tillable soil and the mechanisms for bringing crops to the rest of the world.  Were I to invest in Ukraine right now, I would seek to invest in infrastructure that would facilitate this industry. 

Those of you not exposed to United States farmers need only know that there are more wealthy farmers than any other sector of our population.  Just because they don't spend it, doesn't mean they don't have it.

I predict that the same folks who have managed to get Poland's agriculture on the fast track will be traveling East and South to take advantage of an emerging economy.  Moreover, Western Ukraine is perfectly poised to take advantage of such opportunities.

The simple question facing Ukraine is whether they can establish a government for the next 10 to 15 years that will allow this development to happen.  It will take creativity and a structured judicial system in place.  Right now one can get away with murder in this country if you have the money to buy a verdict.  With no threat of the law, there will be no standards that are enforceable. 

There is still an older generation that longs for the days of the Soviet Union.  But this generation is passing into retirement.  Even the legislators are changing over now.  As the torch is handed off, the base idea of splitting and joining with Russia will fall away.  If only there is something to hold UA together.  For that, we will have to wait and see.
