I don't understand why Heinz or ketchup  (unless its a play about "catch up").

Kerry is married to Teresa Heinz Kerry.  She married one of the Heinz heirs, he died, later she married John Kerry. 

John Kerry is one of those "kept men", his first wife was old money WASP also.
