Must not be very good hackers if they have to 'pay hundreds of thousands of pounds' to spam the internet. Actually, we have two here on this site that the mods are starting to complain about. Free service, too. LOL.

But more on the hackers. These could well be the same group who hacked Target and Neiman Marcus late last year, so they can afford to kick it and spend lavishly to have some else do some of the leg work, no?

Not to state the obvious, or anything....

And will this make it into mainstream Russian media so that the general populace can get another point of view?

Read it again - it's not the hackers paying the money.

I just did right now. It was the Nashi Group that is paying journalists, bloggers and internet trolls hundreds and thousands of pounds to spam the internet. WOW! That is so indecent and unfair, isn't it? How can these people pay others to hack everyone else. Everyone is hacking and spamming everyone - everywhere. OMG! Dis is 2 crzy!

And of course, apologies to the hackers of the world.

I didn't read the article, but judging by your response it sounds like the "hackers"  are simply leasing an already existing and apparently quite large botnet.. where the majority of the world's spam comes from anyway.

 :toocool:
Just about anything with an IP address can be remotely hacked (although in the circles, they call it cracking.. hacking is just tweaking code)  I read an article a while back about a "smart" refrigerator getting infected with a trojan, becoming another zombie in a bot net, .. here's the story

Most people at home with their unsecured WIFI routers think. "why would they wanna hack me?.." That is exactly why. It's another vector from which they can attack/spam others. A bigger bot net is a better bot net, because they can lease it out for more money.

If you got an IP and even dial up bandwidth you're  a target. lock that stuff down !

Indeed. I'm pretty sure they amended their ways and don't do this anymore.  ;)

After that public scandal and few others, "they" decreased support of "Nashi" and distanced from them, so now it doesn't really matter what they are doing, even if they are still doing something. They now have other "brands" instead of "Nashi", such like "Народный фронт" for example.
