Meest to Crimea - Yes, We Can!
« on: June 01, 2014, 05:58:55 AM »
Just FYI, if anyone cares, over the years, I've sent probably 100 large boxes to Crimea, about half were personal belongings for my move there, all packages were received and were on time, I just can't say enough about Meest's excellent quality of service and reliability.  Back in April as a trial I sent a box of clothes and toys to in-laws outside of Sevastopol and it was just received.  Once again Meest is amazing!

P.S. anyone know how to dissamble or field-strip a Karl Gustav?

We used Meest about 8 or 9 times to send packages to Crimea in the past and everything went through.

However, one extremely important package going from Crimea to USA was damaged which resulted in a very extreme loss of money to us!

I would not trust Meest with anything of high value. The maximum amount of insurance you can purchase is pitiful!

considering it's Ukraine, that's a very high success rate, also consider that your packages are x-rayed and that people who make $200 a month might decide that their family could stand to have a little extra chicken in their diet this month.  my Meest post is just to let people know that even though Crimea is "under new management' packages are getting through (even past road blocks), which is no small feat...

We have sent 7 large boxes (40-50) pounds of clothing, etc., to Ukraine in past three years using MEEST; but not to Crimea.  Around $75 per box.

It is hard figuring out their sheet of instructions, and I struggle each time to determine what label to put where, etc.  And their people in New Jersey are still lacking in customer service skills, although not as bad as in Ukraine itself.  Ochka even  doesn't want to talk with them and wants me to talk on phone with them because she said "They treat me like I am stupid, when I ask questions."

But anyway, the boxes have all arrived in 3 - 4 and half weeks, unopened, nothing stolen, and no duty fees paid.
One key is to write on the customs form "Used clothing, used books, etc."
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.
